Kurt joined the staff as a waiter at the Hammer Club because he wanted a Master of his own. He’s shy, though, and just one boy among the many looking for that special someone to dominate them. In fact, he’s working the night of the Hammer’s Annual Christmas Auction when Master Marcus asks him to fill in for a sub stuck in traffic. Master August noticed Kurt when he first started working at the Hammer, but hadn’t approached the boy, wondering if they were compatible. When he sees Kurt on the auction block, he figures it’s the perfect time to test out their chemistry without putting any pressure on either of them. Will Kurt and August find what they’re looking for in each other? Find out in this Christmas Hammer tale. Previously published by Torquere Press.
REVIEW:
Anyone that has read the Hammer Club books are probably already familiar with the stories revolving around the Hammer’s Annual Christmas Auction, a time when subs put themselves up for bid in order to raise money. Usually, the couple featured in the story is only together for a day or two with the ending a little ambiguous while still leaning towards the pair finding a happily ever after. What I really liked, and found different about, this story is that you not only get to see the evening and day after the auction, but a couple of weeks down the road as the relationship that began with a Christmas bid has deepened and continued on.
I liked the story set up quite a bit and the characters themselves were cute (though August would probably disagree with that label). The bdsm elements were fairly light but with a story featuring someone so new to the scene, and a virgin at that, I felt that was only appropriate. This did fall into the insta-love category as things did move quite quickly between Kurt and August but the feelings also came across as genuine in a really sweet way. I found this to be a really nice story full of holiday feels that I wouldn’t mind reading in the middle of the year when I’m looking for something sweet with a little bit of naughty. If you’re looking for a Hammer book on the fluffier side that’s light on kink, this would be a good choice for you.
