CHRIS
Deductions (Aberrant Magic #1) by Lyn Gala
I only started this series a few weeks ago, but I am absolutely in love with it. The moment I finished book one I immediately went out and purchased the second book in the series, Derivation. Lyn Gala has such an excellent way with words and worlds. I can’t recommend this series enough.
Blank Spaces (Toronto Connections #1) by Cass Lennox
The first in a new series by Cass Lennox, Blank Spaces was everything I could ever hope it to be. I love the way the characters and their varying sexualities were handled here, and I am on the edge of my seat to see what the author has for the next three books.
Scoring Chances Series by Avon Gale
I tried to pick just one of these books to list, and well…that’s just not possible. I could make a whole favorites list just from these books alone. This year I had the chance to continue reading the series as new books came out, as well as go back and enjoy the audiobooks. Love is not a strong enough word for what I feel for this series.
What It Looks Like by Matthew J. Metzger
This year I had the great opportunity to read several of Metzger’s books, and I am so glad I got the chance. He is an awesome writer, and his many transgender characters are some of the best written I have ever read. I found this book to be near perfect and would recommend it for anyone who likes a bit of spice in bedroom as well as some exceptionally well written characters.
His Royal Secret & His Royal Favorite by Lilah Pace
While this was written as two books, it is in fact one story and I couldn’t list one over the other. Romance, royalty, and damn good writing make this a story not to miss. And I know I am not alone in wanting the author to continue the story of James and Ben.
You have no idea how much I loved this book. I picked it up on sale on a whim, but I was quickly converted to a full blown fan by first few chapters. I love all things space and science-y and this book just was an awesome mix of all that with a lovely romance and great secondary characters. Plus we don’t often get to see astronauts in a modern-ish setting, and I really wish I could find more.
.
Thanks for your list of top reads, Chris. A few more books to consider.
I absolutely loved Breakaway by Avon Gale. As I did the rest of the Scoring Chances series. Awesome books.
Thanks for the list! Scoring Chances series is in my top reads of 2016, I just love Avon Gale’s books. I have Lilah Pace’s duology in my TBR list.
Thanks for sharing, Chris. I’ve only have Lilah Pace’s on my read list and Avon Gale’s & Lyn Gala’s ones on my TBR queue. I shall check out the rest – thanks for putting potential adition to my TBR this year! 🙂
Though I admit that I haven’t read any of your top reads, I can say that it’s a great list. I’ve read You’re the One that I Want by Kay Simone & I’ve only heare good things about her other books. Avon Gale’s is a must read too for sports romance & humurous novels lovers there.
Thanks, Chris. =)
I have read most of your top reads and I have to agree I loved Avon Gale’s books and Lyn Gala Aberrant Magic series they were in my top reads of 2016 too.
It is fun to check out all your favorites of last year, i have to agree on the Scoring Chances Serie by Avon Gale, i liked them too 🙂 I also read One Giant Leap by Kay Simone but that one wasn’t for me 🙁
Haven’t read any of these but have considered a couple.
What It Looks Like is on my tbr list.
Thanks for sharing your list, Chris. I loved the Lilah Pace series, too. I have the Lyn Gala book, but haven’t read it yet. Looks like I should do that soon. 🙂
What a great list, Christ. Some of the books you point out are in my TBR list, some I’ve already read and loved!
I love Scoring Chances (especially the later stories about the Spitfires), and I’m in the middle of BLANK SPACES.
Great list of books that are mostly new to me. I have Avon Gale’s book waiting for me on my e-reader, but most of these other books I totally missed somehow.
Wow so many books I have not read yet. But I love these lists and I trust the Love Bytes reviewers so steer me to the best books every day!
Love the Scoring Chances series!
Great list. I am a huge fan of Avon Gale’s Scoring Chances series. I also really liked One Giant Leap.
Deductions is the only one I’ve read from this list….might need to remedy that!
I haven’t read any of these. I’ll have to look into them. Thank you for sharing!
Avon Gale’s books are really great. Definitely agree there.
I saw “Deductions” and “What It Looks Like” on some of the other lists and they are on my to-read list. The only question is when I’ll find the time. The new year started out strong with good sounding books already.
Just read Blank spaces, and I have read all of Avon Gale’s books except for her newest one.
Well, Chris’s list is ‘more to my kind of reading’ I see. I LOVED Avon Gale’s books. She’s one of my favorite new-to-me authors in 2016. I’ve read Lilah Pace’s too and of course Lyn Gala is a solid author for me. Thanks for the list
Thanks for your top picks. Your comments on the first one, Deductions, makes me want to go check it out.
