A warm welcome to Kris T Berthke joining us today to talk about her new release “His Needs”.
Kris talks about family and brought with her a giveaway to our readers!
Welcome Kris 🙂
Hello everyone! I’m Kris Bethke, and I’ve stopped in to chat about my latest release, His Needs. Big thanks to Love Bytes for hosting me today. In appreciation, I’ve brought along a giveaway as well!
Family. Whether they are our biggest supporters or our worst enemies, biological or chosen, awesome or ridiculous, we all have them. And around the holidays, there’s a particular emphasis on spending “family time.” For some of us, that’s the best thing ever. For others, it’s a reason to avoid any and every thing having to do with holidays.
For Travis Kinslow, my MC, it’s sort of a combination.
His childhood was pretty bad, and he no longer has anything to do with his biological parents. But from the time he was ten, he had a psuedofamily in that of his best friend, Joe, and Joe’s large Italian family. He’s still sort of an introvert, and the extended family that gathers is a bit much for him. But he adores the Mastrianos, and feels fortunate to be included in their structure. Though he always feels a little bit like he’s on the outside, that suits him fine.
He’s especially glad for that when it comes to Noah Mastriano. Because his feelings toward the man are anything but brotherly. Travis has been in love with Noah for more than half his life, and while he’s certain they’ll never be anything more, he’s glad for that little bit of distance.
It all changes, of course. This is a romance after all. Travis and Noah go from friends to lovers easily. But they have a large family waiting to weigh in. Travis is worried about how they’ll react, and with good reason. This is the family he chose, and he doesn’t want to lose them. But he does want to change his status. From being a sort of adopted son and brother, to being Noah’s partner.
This holiday season, Travis is going to get his wish. Even if not every member of the family is happy about it.

Blurb:
When State Trooper Travis Kinslow is injured right before Thanksgiving, the only positive is that for once he won’t be working during the holidays. Since he has no family, Travis was absorbed into his best friend, Joe’s, and he considers them as good as his own. Everyone except Joe’s brother Noah. Travis has been in love with the younger man for much of his life, but he’s always kept his distance.
As an ER nurse, Noah is a caretaker by nature. When his brother’s best friend is hurt, he’s happy to help Travis while he heals. He’s only ever allowed himself to think of Travis as the next best thing to an older brother, but by the light of the Christmas tree, Noah finally sees Travis’s true feelings. And in that moment, everything changes.
When faced with opposition and a Christmas nothing like they imagined, will their hopes for the future be enough to carry them through?

Kris T. Bethke has been a voracious reader for pretty much her entire life and has been writing stories for nearly as long. An avid and prolific daydreamer, she always has a story in her head. She spends most of her free time reading, writing, or knitting/crocheting her latest project. Her biggest desire is to find a way to accomplish all three tasks at one time. A classic muscle car will always turn her head, and naps on the weekend are one of her greatest guilty pleasures. She lives in a converted attic with a way too fluffy cat and the voices in her head. She’ll tell you she thinks that’s a pretty good deal. Kris believes that love is love, no matter the gender of people involved, and that all love deserves to be celebrated.
