Hello all! I’m C.S. Poe, back with another monthly post here at Love Bytes.
Can you believe we’ve finally made it to the end of 2016? It’s been— well, it’s been a ride, hasn’t it? Here’s a brief overview of what I released this year, if you and me haven’t been properly introduced yet, and some of what I expect to put out in 2017.
This was an exciting year because I debuted my first novel, The Mystery of Nevermore. It’s the first book in the mystery-romance series, Snow & Winter, and follows the (mis)adventures of Sebastian Snow, an antique dealer with a penchant for falling down rabbit holes full of murder, mystery, and Victorian curiosities. At his side is NYPD homicide detective, Calvin Winter, the love interest and cop always catching Sebastian in questionable situations. Book One is, you guessed it, Edgar Allan Poe themed.
Also released this year were several short stories! Kneading You was part of Dreamspinner’s Simmer anthology, and features Christopher Hughes, a transplant to a small New Hampshire town, who is trying to save an old library from being torn down with the aid of local repairman and part-time baker, Miles Sakasai.
Love, Marriage, and a Baby Carriage was part of this summer’s Daily Dose anthology with Dreamspinner Press. It followed the mucked up vacation of Theodore Reinhart, a penguin (!!) shifter stuck at a singles’ convention called WaddleCon. He meets fellow Magellanic penguin, Wesley O’Neill, and an abandoned egg— the source of both their woe and joy!
Lastly, my most recent release was Gunner the Deadly, a western Steampunk part of the Once Upon a Time in the Weird West anthology with Dreamspinner. Gillian Hamilton is an agent and magic-caster with the New York Magic & Steam Police, who is sent to Shallow Grave, Arizona to arrest a madman engineer. He meets infamous outlaw, Gunner the Deadly, and the two team up together to take down a common enemy.
2017 is already turning out to be far more busy, which is a good problem to have. The Mystery of the Curiosities, the second book in the Snow & Winter series, will be out on March 7th. Sebastian + Calvin + creepy artifacts from the lost museum of P.T. Barnum = pretty cool murder mystery. I’m really excited for this novel and I hope everyone enjoys it!
I’ll also have a novella out on April 5th, part of Dreamspinner’s States of Love series. Joy is about down on his luck Gideon Joy and his chance meeting with a local, bridge restoration worker in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
I’ve got several more projects at various stages of completion up my sleeves as well. There are no firm release dates yet, but I expect a murder-mystery standalone to show up, a contemporary romance, and at least two more short stories. Whew!
Now let’s do a giveaway, shall we? Join the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win any title in e-book format from my backlist.
I’ll see you all in 2017!

The Mystery of the Curiosities (Snow & Winter Book Two)
Life has been pretty great for Sebastian Snow. The Emporium is thriving and his relationship with NYPD homicide detective, Calvin Winter, is everything he’s ever wanted. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, Sebastian’s only cause for concern is whether Calvin should be taken on a romantic date. It’s only when an unknown assailant smashes the Emporium’s window and leaves a peculiar note behind, that all plans get pushed aside in favor of another mystery.
Sebastian is quickly swept up in a series of grisly yet seemingly unrelated murders. The only connection tying the deaths together are curiosities from the lost museum of P.T. Barnum. Despite Calvin’s attempts to keep Sebastian out of the investigation, someone is forcing his hand, and it becomes apparent that the entire charade exists for Sebastian to solve. With each clue that’ll bring him closer to the killer, he’s led deeper into Calvin’s official cases.
It’s more than just Sebastian’s livelihood and relationship on the line—it’s his very life.
