“I won’t fall for him.”
After breaking up with his cheating ex, Mark Kenmore turns to rebound sex with the campus drug dealer, Tim Halwell. He’s heard the rumors about all the hearts Tim’s broken, but after how he’s been hurt, there’s no way he’ll let himself fall into that trap. Besides, if the press found out he was screwing around with a drug dealer, it would tarnish his governor mother’s reputation. He expects the sex to be hot and exciting. What he doesn’t expect is the most intense, mind-blowing experience he’s ever had. He knows it’s wrong to want more, but he can’t help himself. And the more time they spend hooking up, the more he worries he’s falling into the same trap as Tim’s previous boy toys…and the harder it becomes to keep what they’re doing a secret from his friends and family.
“He’s just like the others.”
Tim knows Mark—the son of a politician, attending one of the most prestigious universities in Atlanta—is just another spoiled rich kid. When Tim hears about Mark’s breakup, he’s more than willing to help the brat out with some rebound sex. Just another notch in his own headboard. Tim won’t make it a regular thing because that never goes well. The guys always end up falling for him, despite how much they may fight it. But one steamy, lust-filled encounter after another, and he finds he can’t stop messing around with Mark. It’s too much fun. Too intense. Too erotic. And the longer they try to remain each other’s filthy little secrets, the more Tim realizes if he doesn’t back out soon, he just might fall in love.
REVIEW:
Recently hurt by cheating ex and bff, Mark is looking to get over it and move on. What better way than to have a dirty encounter with the campus bad boy with a reputation for loving and leaving em? Mark goes into it fully aware that sex is the only thing Tim is willing to give, or that even if he seems to be offering more, it wouldn’t be a good idea to get caught up in it only to have Tim walk away. When the one night turns out to be the hottest sex either have had, one night becomes two, etc. and they end up cultivating a friends with benefits type relationship that is basically one hot encounter after another. Mark is able to fulfill his fantasies, and Tim is more than willing to participate and help fulfill them.
The lines get a little blurry when Tim is the one who starts feeling more. Mark tries very hard to stick to Tim’s rules in keeping feelings out of the mix and does a pretty good job, afraid of scaring Tim off and thus ending their mutually-beneficial relationship. But, it is Tim who ends up wanting more and having to convince Mark that it is ok for them to break the rules.
There is the big issue of Tim actually being worthy of Mark – he is the campus drug dealer, after all. But, Tim has his reasons for choosing that profession and works hard to change that path and become someone Mark can be proud of. Mark is dealing with some family issues of his own being the son of a politician. So, there are a few bumps in the road for these guys before they can actually make a relationship work.
This was a fun and fast read, even though there were a few serious issues/moments here and there. These guys have deliciously dirty smexy times and really compliment each other well. I’m not often a fan of first person, present tense, and the pov’s change between characters throughout this story. Before long, that wasn’t playing a factor for me and I was able to just get into the story. There were a few times where I was a bit confused with all of the friends, who had cheated with who and who was now together. Ultimately though, I figured Mark and Tim were really the only ones I needed to care about, and I really wanted to see them pull through.
If you’re looking for a delightfully dirty, rich boy/bad boy find love story, be sure to give this one a try.
