SERIES: 2016 Dreamspinner Press Advent Calendar – Bah Humbug

PUBLISHER: Dreamspinner Press
LENGTH: 39 pages
RELEASE DATE: December 1st, 2016
BLURB:
Former US Marine John Ving hates everything about holiday displays: they’re tacky, they waste energy, and they’re an eyesore. So what does his new neighbor do? He sets up the holiday spectacle from hell, and he doesn’t seem to care which holiday—he has a menorah, a baby Jesus, a Santa, and everything in between. Not to mention it’s swathed in enough lights his house is probably visible from space.
High-school teacher Kaden loves the holidays, and huge light displays on his lawn make his heart glow. He’d love to share some cheer—and maybe some kinky fun—with his smoking hot neighbor John. Odd things start to happen to his displays and just as he begins to think life is going his way, with the holidays and with John, a Grinch destroys everything.
It’s gonna take the display-hating John to set things right—and what he has planned might blow Kaden’s mind.
REVIEW:
This was an ok, cute Christmastime story. It’ll definitely inspire you to decorate that’s for sure!
Kaden loves everything about the holiday season. He especially loves decorating, baking and bringing tons of holiday cheer to everyone and everything around him. He’s especially interested in his very hunky yet grumpy neighbor.
John really dislikes Christmas time but he loves his nephews so when he loses a bet he realizes he’s going to have to do the one thing he really hates, decorate for the holidays.
Kaden and John meet while John and his nephews are decorating his house. There’s an immediate attraction between the two but John isn’t into relationships and Kaden seems to be a little too much for him.
Unfortunately a string a strange circumstances and a trio of meddling nephews bring these two together.
This was ok but we never got a resolution about the big mystery and I didn’t really get the point of the crazy ex.
Overall, this one was just ok for me.

Thank you for the review. It is a rather tantalising title.
Definitely an eye-catching title!
Thanks for the review! Too bad it was just OK – with a title like that.
That title is so intriguing. I love the sound of the book blurb. Thank you for the review.
Sounds like a great read bringing people together at Christmas.
It sounds good, I’m sorry you did not love it, Amber. I may be adding it to my TBR pile!
The title had me going, “Whaaa? Really?” so I just HAD to read the review. At 39 pages, can’t expect much more than a short story, and it sounds like it tried to be more. Maybe a full book is in the works that could be interesting, if the title were changed and smexy times added? Thanks for an honest review.
The title made me giggling. Thanks for the review, Amber
Love the title that alone should be enough to go buy this LOL Add in a Marine and i’m sold. Thank you for the review
I bought this one when it was on sale. The title sure is catchy. Thank you for the review =)
I do love marine or soldier romances with teachers or scholar type characters so this one definately holds an appeal to me – i also don’t mind meddling kids too much depending on how its done… I think i might give this one a go. Thank you 🙂
The title LOL
