Noah expected to spend Christmas alone, but he never expected to spend it falling in love with his boss.
With his third divorce looming and his bank accounts frozen, Chip Harington was surprisingly okay with spending Christmas alone, even if he was living out of a suitcase in his office. He had already decided to skip the office Christmas party, until some surprising words from one of his employees makes him change his mind.
Noah always expected the crush for his boss to fade, but after two years working under Chip, his feelings are stronger than ever. With Chip’s personal life in tatters once more, Noah never expected his boss to show his face at the office Christmas party, so he was even more surprised when his drunken attempt to kiss Chip turned into so much more.
Chip assumed his encounter with Noah was nothing more than a one-night stand, but when his employee emerges from a snowstorm on Christmas Eve, they are forced to spend Christmas together in a London office block. With the lines between employer and employee blurred, will either man emerge from the snow the same, or will their Christmas encounter change the course of their lives forever, making them wish they had spent Christmas alone after all?
REVIEW:
This is a quick, fun Christmas novella with a feel good storyline.
Noah Anderson has been working at Harington Publishing House for over two years. Two long years that he has had a secret crust on his handsome, straight and soon to be divorced, for the third time, boss. Noah has recently lost his last living relative and now faces Christmas alone in his flat. Chip Harington is only thirty two years old but is now stuck living in his publishing house office since he is going through his third divorce. He finally realizes that settling down with a nice woman and raising a family won’t solve his problem…he’s gay. When Noah stays late before the company Christmas party, to finish up a contract, he discovers Chip’s other secret, he’s going to be spending Christmas alone also. When a freak storm blows in, and traps all of London indoors, the men make good use of their time together. But what happens when the snow melts?
This was a sweet story with a sad backdrop but some hilarious hijinks brighten up the storyline and make you chuckle. I am just saying that I am glad I don’t have to go back to work in that office, after their escapades, at least until the cleaning crew comes in and does a very thorough and deep cleaning, that’s for sure. And I don’t know if I can use a copy machine with a straight face anytime soon. These mischievous men brightened my day even if their antics were a bit juvenile.
The Epilogue sealed this for me. It wrapped it all up nicely with a big bow on top. Heartwarming Christmas tale of the good guys finally coming out on top.
