This or That Thanksgiving edition with Author TM Smith and Narrator Joel Leslie
Driving to grandma’s house or Flying?
Tams – Flying
Joel – Unless the two dachshunds get to come with us, flying. But usually we are close to home.
Big dinner or Small gathering?
Tams – Big Dinner!
Joel – Small gathering. Less drama… more stuffing for me J
Christmas movies or Football?
Tams – Christmas movies, specifically White Christmas with Rosemary Clooney.
Joel – What are these sports of which you speak? Definitely Christmas movies. “Love, Actually” and “Muppet Christmas Carol” are my favorite.
Pumpkin Pie or Pumpkin Beer?
Tams – Can’t I wash down the pie with the beer?
Joel – PIEEEEEEE. I am one of those people who gets irrationally excited about pumpkin flavored everything.
Turkey or Ham?
Tams – We have both but if I had to chose, I’d go turkey.
Joel – We have both. My Mom’s raisin sauce makes the ham an epic experience.
Spiked Cider or Spiked Eggnog?
Tams – I’m the odd man out that thinks Eggnog is nasteeee, so Cider.
Joel – Hmmm… I don’t really drink. But cider definitely makes me wanna snuggle J
Black Friday madness or Online shopping?
Tams – both actually. We always do black friday, but I like to shop online on thanksgiving day because there are some great online only sales.
Joel – We used to get up for Black Friday at like 5:00 am every year, but now, mostly online.
Holiday movie time – cheesy horror, drama/comedy or classic?
Tams- Classic!
Joel – Classic!
Green bean casserole or Sweet potato souffle?
Tams – neither, blech. I know, I’m strange but I will take the green beans, minus the casserole please.
Joel – OMG both. I could pretty much live on sweet potato soufflé for the rest of my life.
Just for fun, a thanksgiving tradition…
Tams – My mom, sister and I love to go shopping on “black friday” so every year we get up around six in the morning on Thanksgiving day. While mom works on the turkey, seester and I go grab coffee from Starbucks and three newspapers with the ads for the next day. While pops and the man child sleep, we start mapping out our shopping trip for the next day. It’s something the three of us have done together for more years than I care to count! It’s a day I look forward to every year. Tell me, what’s a Thanksgiving tradition in your house? Leave a comment below.
Joel – I grew up in Bermuda, so we didn’t really do Thanksgiving at all (cuz it’s a British commonwealth). When I came to live in the USA people always got freaked out if I didn’t have plans. One Thanksgiving I actually ended up at Vanna White’s house (true story). Now, because I own a theater and we always do a Holiday show, we spend it with our cast members that year. It’s right before we open so it’s kind of a forced day of relaxation amongst all the craziness. Usually things can get pretty colorful, like the time that one of our cast members decided to discuss their favorite Cocky Boys stars with my father in law. Won’t forget that Thanksgiving anytime soon (eep).
