REVIEW:
This was easily my favorite installment of the Memories series from Max Vos. As you might recall, I brought you a Flashback Friday Series Review last Friday with the first four books in the series. I’m going to tell you right up front that I do not recommend reading them out of order. I really liked this book, but you need the background from the other installments to fully enjoy it.
I’m going to review it with that in mind. There might be spoilers for the previous books, but they will be minimal.
In A Christmas Memory 3, we are back with the Sutton clan, and more specifically…focused back onto Adam and J.J. Their son A.J. (Adam Jr.) is now four and getting ready for kindergarten. Adam and J.J. are both working at a prestigious private school and life is going great.
Adam wants another child though, and their original surrogate…Adam’s brother Luke’s wife is more than happy to do it again. There is a lot of hesitation on J.J.’s part, but without giving you spoilers, there might be a surrender, and there might be a little more than expected as a result.
I loved how Joe and Gerry, the gay ‘uncles’ were tied back into this story and the way the story progressed in time as the family aged.
I’m guessing from the end that this is the final installment in Memories, but I’m not sure, because the end of the original installment time progressed as well. Who knows. If there are more, I will eagerly read them. If there aren’t? Well I’m happy with the tie up.
I recommend this installment, and as I said, the four before it. They are all fairly short, and quick reads without a lot of angst. They are a feel good, happy ending type series, with each book ending on a high note.
I’d recommend picking them all up today.
