REVIEW:
As many of you know, I am a sucker for rock stars and their stories. What you might not know is I literally cut my teeth on gay romance when one of my most favorite rock series lead me to reading, learning about and falling in love with two men who fall for each other. The Music Within series has filled my heart with even more love.
Taggart Lee Holloway, Tag to the rock world and Lee to his sister, is at the top of his game as the lead singer of 7’s Mistress, the biggest rock band in the entire world! But tragedy isn’t kept away just because you are rich and famous. When Lee is left with a tiny premature baby girl after his baby sister, his only living family left in his life, dies in childbirth, he is in way over his head. He has absolutely no idea how to care for the tiny infant. He’s a rock star not a nanny. On a chance meeting in the park, Lee meets a gorgeous Norse God who calms his screaming niece. On a second chance meeting, he discovers that this incredibly good looking man is a pediatrician, when he takes Delilah in to find out what is wrong with her. When there is a third chance meeting, in a restaurant restroom, Lee knows that he has to do something to make it happen with the gorgeous doctor. “Deliver Me” is the story of how that does happen.
First off, how could you not fall for Erik. He is gorgeous, a successful doctor and one of the sweetest men on earth. He is a true friend to those around him and gives of his time freely. But he also has a huge lock around his heart. His ex used him and cheated on him. How could he ever learn to trust again?
Tag is a rock star, plain and simple. He doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t do nice and easy. He doesn’t do family life. He’s a freaking rock star and he will remind you of that at every turn. But, when his dear sister dies and leaves him with her baby daughter, his life is literally turned upside down. Now Lee is trying to figure out where his life is going and it seems it’s about to be making a major turn. He has more money than he could ever spend and the rock star life isn’t looking so good anymore. But he also knows, as frontman for the band, that what ever changes he makes will affect his band mates and support members as well.
When Lee and Eric finally do decide to take a chance it is dynamite! These two are instantly lit up with new and foreign feelings. And baby Delilah is just the icing on the cake. But Tag has one more series of concerts before all his obligations to the record label are completed. Twelve weeks on the road and only two weeks before he leaves to convince Doc to trust him and explore their feelings.
I fell for all the members of the band and even felt a little sorry for Cade. Cade had pined for Tag since they were young and he didn’t know how to handle losing him. Echo probably surprised me the most. The group’s manager was a true and loyal friend and the cement for the group.
I got so caught up in this story that I couldn’t put it down. I really, really didn’t want this book to end. I could have had an entire series between the last chapter and the epilogue and I still would have wanted more. Can’t wait to read the next in the series and hope that we get to see a bit more of this wonderful little family. This was a brand new author to me and what a delight it has been to discover her and this fantastic series.
