Max finds out very quickly that nothing about Sydney is easy. That becomes even more apparent when Sydney asks Max to meet him. From that moment on, Max is smitten. Not only is Max in over his head in the love department, but it’s with a man whose either bound for death or prison.
REVIEW:
When Max is talked to flirt and send text messages to Sydney Marshall he’s all for it. Sydney is hot and Max isn’t going to miss out on possibly getting into his pants. Max has the feeling he’s in way over his head with Sydney. Every time he talks to him he starts feeling things he should never feel for an assassin.
Sydney was offered the contract to take out Demon Elites leader Justin but he never accepted it. Now there seems to be a madman going around town murdering people and leaving clues to Sydney behind. Sydney is now desperate enough to call Max to see if he can help him locate who is pretending to be him. When Max asks to meet in person Sydney decides to take him up on his offer.
Neither Max nor Sydney has the most stellar upbringing, Max’s father divorced his mother when he was quite young only to turn around and marry a man. Max can honestly say he’d never seen his father happier than he was when he married Garrett. Because of his mother’s hatred of his father and Garrett the abused she would scream to Max when he stayed with her left an indelible mark on him. As such Max, doesn’t believe in relationships and will only have sex with men he can leave and forget. Sydney’s mother abandoned him when he was very young. And even though he was abused by the one person who was supposed to love him but didn’t, Sydney still believes in love and wants to settle down with his “one”.
Sydney and Max get to know each while they are trying to stay alive, Victoria Mize has got her lackey pretending to be Sydney as well as putting a hit out on him. Even though Sydney is an assassin Max has never feared him, if anything he has fallen for his “innocence” to do with relationship. Max is understandably surprised when Sydney tell him he wants a meaningful relationship. Throughout the investigation into who it is that is impersonating Sydney, trying to track down Victoria Max also has a family emergency, his dad has tried to kill himself again. It’s not the first time he’s tried it, when Max asked him why he said he can’t live without the love of his life anymore.
There are so many thrills and spills in the Demon Elite series as well as the men saving the as many people as they can from becoming sex-slaves. I would recommend you getting a copy of your own so you don’t miss out on the action.
