A warm welcome to author B.A Tortuga joining us today here @ Love bytes to talk about newest release “Private Dances”.
What If
Hey y’all! I’m BA Tortuga, resident redneck and lover of cowboys of all shapes and sizes.
I write a lot of blog posts and at the beginning of each and every one I stare at the blank Word doc and wonder what the hell I’m gonna write about this time. True story.
I mean, I have my standards – playlists, character interviews, maybe a recipe if the characters are foodies or something about Texas or New Mexico, periodically Colorado. Those are always interesting and easy to tie into the promotional part of this whole thing because that’s what I’m supposed to be doing.
Yeah, I know, I’m bad at that part. Really, I just like to tell stories. More than that? I love to have folks tell me stories. If professional listener was a paying job, y’all? I would be all over that mess. There’s precious little I like more than to curl up with a cup of coffee and hear/read/watch a good story.
I’m super lucky in that my wife and my daddy are both storytellers (note that I did not call them bullshitters, even though that moniker would fit like whoa) and will tell me a tale whenever I ask (and whenever I don’t – It’s sorta magical), so I don’t have to stress it.
I spend a lot of my time wandering around aimlessly asking Julia, “what if”.
Apparently, as a little girl, I didn’t ask “why” a lot. I was much more concerned with “what if?”.
“What if that dogs bites that man?”
“What if the tire goes flat?”
“What if that spinach is spoiled?”
“What if there’s an axe murderer in the basement?”
“What if the teddy bear comes to life and gets me?”
To this day, I can ask my poor beleaguered momma, “what if?” and she immediately gets a migraine.
Luckily, I get to play with my wife.
In the case of Private Dances I was stuck in traffic in Houston with my wife and we were stopped next to a titty bar. Y’all all know the type – HOT GIRLS NOW! Etc – and I said, “What if there was this exotic dancer cowboy?”
And Julia says to me, “You mean like a stripper in a hat?”
And I said, “No. No, like a cowboy that working his way through college dancing and what if there was this gazillionaire that saw him and…”
Ta da.
Private Dances. 😉
Much love, y’all.

Blurb:
Dale is working his way through college as an exotic dancer. While he prefers to keep his performances public, it’s tough to say no to the private dances, even though they’re risky. Three songs, just dancing, no touching—Dale can do this and be handsomely compensated.
For Italian businessman Adriano “Gen” Genovese, the handsome cowboy tempts him into wanting more than one dance. Gen convinces Dale to indulge in another dance and a night in his decadent hotel room. He introduces Dale to a glittering world of wealth on a scale Dale has never even imagined.
As the romance between the down-home Texas student and the millionaire playboy heats up, they come to realize the only risk they face is losing their hearts.

BA Tortuga
Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy’s Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her basset hounds and her beloved wife, texting her sisters, and eating Mexican food. When she’s not doing that, she’s writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. BA’s personal saviors include her wife, Julia Talbot, her best friend, Sean Michael, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.
Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to hard-core cowboys to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which was raised in Northeast Texas, but has heard the call of the high desert and lives in the Sandias. With books ranging from hard-hitting GLBT romance, to fiery menages, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head.
