Hello all! I’m C.S. Poe, back with another monthly post, here at Love Bytes.
2016 has been a fairly stressful year, I think a lot of us can agree on that. So I decided to start keeping a happy jar. Every day I stop and appreciate one moment, no matter how big or small, and write it down before dropping it into the jar. I want to fill it up— one happy thought for every day. It’s very satisfying to find myself looking for positivity in day-to-day business when that can so easily be swept away in the tide of daily annoyances. The goal is to go a full year, pack the jar to the hilt, and then read through the tangible reminders of joy.
I invite everyone to make a jar of their own! I used a mason jar, and of course—for those who know what I love— covered it in cute cats. I picked up a lot of adorable stationary from when I lived in Japan—Rilakkuma, Mamegoma, Chocopa—so I write down the memories on those. And remember, they don’t need to be serious. They can be anything! Yesterday, my note was about pizza. But it made me happy and that’s what matters.
I hope you’re inspired to make a happy jar of your own!
I’ll be on my way to GRL tomorrow, attending as a Supporting Author! Will you be there? Come by my author lounges to pick up some awesome and exclusive Snow & Winter swag. You can find me Thursday at 3:00 – 3:45 and Friday at 11:00 – 11:45.

The Mystery of Nevermore (Snow & Winter Book One)
It’s Christmas, and all Sebastian Snow wants is for his business to make money and to save his floundering relationship with CSU detective, Neil Millett. But when Snow’s Antique Emporium is broken into and a heart is found under the floorboards, Sebastian can’t let the mystery rest.
He soon finds himself caught up in murder investigations that echo the macabre stories of Edgar Allan Poe. To make matters worse, Sebastian’s sleuthing is causing his relationship with Neil to crumble, while at the same time he’s falling hard for the lead detective on the case, Calvin Winter. Sebastian and Calvin must work together to unravel the mystery behind the killings, despite the mounting danger and sexual tension, before Sebastian becomes the next victim.
In the end, Sebastian only wants to get out of this mess alive, and live happily ever after with Calvin.

About C.S.
C.S. Poe is an author of gay mystery, romance, and paranormal books.
She is a reluctant mover and has called many places home in her lifetime. C.S. has lived in New York City, Key West, and Ibaraki, Japan, to name a few. She misses the cleanliness, convenience, and limited edition gachapon of Japan, but she was never very good at riding bikes to get around.
She has an affinity for all things cute and colorful, and a major weakness for toys. C.S. is an avid fan of coffee, reading, and cats. She’s rescued three cats, including one found in a drain pipe in Japan who flew back to the States with her. Zak, Milo, and Kasper do their best on a daily basis to sidetrack her from work.

This is such a wonderful idea. We often here people say (sometimes casually or tritely) to count your blessings. I love the idea of having a tangible tracking method of the things that make us happy. In this stress-filled world, the lovely little gems that make us smile are oft overlooked. Plan to implement a happy jar into my life immediately. Thanks for the inspiration (and I hope you continue to have many moments in your life that help fill your jar).
