Love can happen fast, but, to make it last, they will have to survive the danger that is coming for them.
When Colin Ryland risks his life to save Jared Williams’ young nephew, he earns the attorney’s gratitude and, much more surprising, his interest.
At first Jared’s only intentions toward Colin are to make sure he’s taken care of while he recovers. Yet as Jared comes to know the brave and caring man, the walls around his heart fall quickly. Colin is hesitant at first, but ultimately can’t resist his attraction to Jared, who holds nothing back where his emotions for Colin are concerned.
Swept up in the ease and passion of their quickly intensifying relationship, they are caught off guard when vague threats are made against Colin and others. But the tension it brings between them will be the least of their problems when they may not survive the danger that is coming.
REVIEW:
New to me author TK Paige has really gotten me hooked on the Crossed Paths series. What I think really grabbed my attention were the characters. I loved them. They were so well developed and thought out. I loved Jared and Colin so much and together they were explosive. This isn’t one of those stories where the characters meet under crazy circumstances then jump into bed and a happily ever after. This book makes you work for it but it makes the connection the characters have just that much stronger.
After Colin throws himself in front of an oncoming car to save Jared’s nephew the two form a solid bond. What starts as just friendship slowly turns into something much more. Colin, a nurse knows he will need help after the accident. Jared, an attorney is so grateful that he offers Colin anything he needs. In close quarters for a long period of time it’s not surprising that these two grow to care for each other.
But things aren’t all passion and love. Colin unfortunately has a crazy ex-boyfriend who is hell bent on getting Colin back. He firmly believes if he can’t have Colin then no one can.
Having to combat starting and maintaining a new relationship, their family’s interference and a crazy ex both Colin and Jared find themselves barely hanging on to it all but it’s so blaringly obvious how deep the feelings run between both men.
Overall, the writing was well done. I enjoyed the plot it did drag at times but I think it was entertaining. Like I already mentioned the characters stole the show for me. I loved both Jared and Colin but the side characters were amazing as well
I definitely recommend this book. I think it’s a great start to a very interesting series.
