Charles Hunter’s team is on a mission to extract an unidentified ATF agent from an undercover job gone wrong. All they’ve got to go on is the rendezvous location—until Charles recognizes the ex he hasn’t seen in years. Their “simple rescue mission” is about to get a lot more complicated.
For Ángel Medina, adjusting to life after his cartel nightmare is hard enough without confronting memories of a failed relationship. All he wants is a fresh start. But when a violent stalker lashes out from the shadows, Ángel realizes his nightmare is far from over.
As the stalker’s obsession escalates and bodies start dropping, Charles and Ángel are thrown together in a desperate search for the culprit. Tempers flare and old passions reignite, drawing them back into the same turbulent relationship that once ended in disaster.
But the stalker isn’t letting go—and the next strike might hit straight through the heart.
REVIEW:
This story was such a Rush To Read!! Normally I love a really good book that keeps me guessing and this book had it in spades!!
I love the fact that Angel and Charles are ex lovers who have to work together again and yet…the relationship between these two men…it’s very contentious. There are lots of hurt feelings on both sides and that comes through loud and clear. They fight their attraction to one another and yet, it’s still shining as bright as day between them. I really enjoyed seeing these two men really have to argue and fight out their differences and their hurt feelings.
I love the cast of characters in this book. I really appreciated each one of them as they really went out of their way to bring this story together. Charles’ teammates…they are the kinds that you want to watch your back. They were a family and that…says it all. They may not always agree…but they will do their damnest to keep you safe.
I have to say that the action/mystery part of this story was AMAZING. I’m the girl who ALWAYS has to figure out who/when/why/what before the author even tells you about it and I have to say…I was stumped. I was along for the ride as were the MC’s in the story. I couldn’t figure it out and when it came out who the bad guy was….my mouth was open saying….WWWWWHHHHAAATTT!?! I couldn’t believe that I was so off the mark on this one and yet, that made me really happy. I liked the fact that the author kept you guessing. I loved being on my toes and not being able to figure out what was going on. I look back and I see the hints the author threw out and I can’t believe that I missed them. Great Job.
I have to say that I really loved that these MC’S were flawed characters. Neither of them were right all the time and they both had some serious work to do on themselves. I really like flawed people in stories, they remind me that no one is perfect and we ALL are trying to make it in this life. I liked seeing them struggle to articulate their thoughts. To have to work on being a complete person before you could be with someone else.
There was so sexy times in this story and they weren’t all that frequent or very graphic. I think that the sexy times that were there, were to illustrate just how Angel dealt with things…not exactly the best way…but it was interesting to see Angel’s POV regarding the sexy times and why he does.
Overall, I have to say that I really enjoyed this book and was very well entertained.
