Embry Ford was a quiet, ordinary guy—until tragedy ripped his life apart. Now he’s living under the radar, desperate to hide his identity and determined to learn the truth behind what happened. Even if that means working for—and bedding—a man he loathes.
As a bodyguard to a shadowy arms dealer, Brogan Smith knows distractions can kill as easily as a bullet. But when he sets his eyes on his client’s sexy assistant, he can’t get him out of his mind. Even more unnerving: the closer he gets to Embry, the more Brogan starts to suspect he might be protecting the wrong man.
Embry was sure nothing but vengeance would satisfy him—until Brogan offers him something far more tempting. Now Embry must choose: punish the people who nearly destroyed him or fight for a future with the man who has become his entire world.
REVIEW:
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. There were so many things going on but all the elements just worked so well together. I’ve never read Sidney Bell before but with just this one book I am a fan. I absolutely adored this story. It was painful, so painful. And it is most definitely not for the faint of heart. There’s incredible tragedy that involve these characters, my heart broke over and over again.
Brogan Smith is the epitome of a Knight in Shining Armor. After a military career, Brogan goes into the personal protection business. His newest assignment comes with an unexpected distraction and an undeniable attraction.
Embry Ford is mysterious and full of secrets. As the Executive Assistant to a very shady man it’s not surprising that there are so many questions surrounding him. His attraction to his boss’s newest bodyguard is very much unwanted because it conflicts with so many plans Embry has.
I can’t really give too much away because when I say this book is full of secrets, mysteries and land mines I really mean just that. But it is done so incredibly well. Sooooooo well…this book is so friggin good!!
Embry fights his attraction to Brogan so hard. But Brogan is absolutely, without a doubt one of the best characters I’ve read in some time. When he commits to something he is ALL in, no matter what. He gives everything of himself to Embry but Embry isn’t free in more ways than one which creates HUGE conflict between the two.
This is one of those books where it puts the concept of unconditional love, right at the forefront. These characters have the “no matter what…” kind of love and I’ll just leave it at that.
I really enjoyed basically everything about this story and this author is GREAT…..I can’t wait to read more from Sidney Bell.
Recommend.

I give this one 5 stars. It is one of the best and most enjoyable books I have read in a couple of years and I read 4 or 5 books per week. It kept me engrossed until the last page and for a debut author it was awesome. Wish I could think of a better word than that! Cannot wait for the 3 book series coming in January. Congratulations Sidney Bell!
Marilyn…thank you for your comment. I thoroughly enjoyed this one as well. The sneak peak in the back with Church is that the series coming in January?
I have not read it yet but assume so from some of the author comments at back of the book.
