Bobby Gagnon came back to Cedarwood in the hopes of starting over. He’s got his kids and his accounting business, but he wants more. One look at the hot guy sharing the running trail with him is enough to stoke Bobby’s fire. He wants to hook up with the sexy runner, but he doesn’t even know the guy’s name. Will the man even want to be with a single father?
Remy Bard never considered himself a kid person or parent material. He’s happy with his job at the Cedarwood Tribune, but it’s not enough. Something’s always been missing in his life. He keeps seeing the same guy at the park—tall, dark, handsome and hot as hell in those running shorts. Although he’s shy, Remy isn’t about to let this guy get away without at least one night together.
These opposites certainly attract, but will their differences be enough to keep them apart or will they find a way to come together in Cedarwood?
REVIEW:
Robert “Bobby” Gagnon has moved back to Cedarwood with his children so he can have at least a chance to starting over. Bobby has done all the “normal” things a boy is supposed to do, he married a woman, they had one child and adopted another. When he realised he couldn’t live a lie anymore because he wasn’t happy, his wife wasn’t happy he finally told his wife he was gay. After a horrific divorce, Bobby has got his children and is trying to find a partner just for him unfortunately he hasn’t had any luck with the losers he’s dated so far! The first thing Bobby does is join the Single Fathers Society to meet other men and women in the same situation as he is.
Remy Bard works at the Cedarwood Tribune and that has been enough until recently when he feeling there’s something missing. Remy has always had the feeling that something was missing from his life but has never been able to put his finger on what that is. The first time Remy sees Bobby is on the trail he’s running in with his best friend Julia, he can’t believe his eyes he knows pretty much everyone in Cedarwood but this guy is new! The fact that Remy is almost chronically shy means that he probably won’t ever get to meet him. As soon as Remy sees Bobby with kids he automatically decides that he’s not going there as he doesn’t want kids, they’re too much work! For some reason Remy hasn’t ever got along with kids and as far as he’s concerned he’s too old and too set in his ways to change things now.
When Bobby and Remy finally do meet the attraction is instantaneous and they can’t and don’t hold back! After their first night together Bobby and Remy get to know each other better and Remy decides to take a chance on a guy with kids. The more they get to know each other the more Bobby realises that Remy has a lot of unresolved issues from his childhood but they work through them and more, together. Remy realises that being responsible for kids isn’t really that hard and he gets along with Bobby’s kids just fine. He also manages to help both kids work through their issues left over from a mother who never wanted either of them and made no bones about telling them either and then there was Bobby’s ex-boyfriends who were less than humane in their dealings with them.
Both Bobby and Remy become the unfortunate victims of The Coalition for Order in Cedarwood, a group of fanatical, homophobic bigots who want to run all gay/different people out of Cedarwood. They deal with The Coalition and everything else that comes their way, together! You really need to read the entire Single Fathers Society series in order to make sense of each additional book.
