A warm welcome to author Erica Cameron joining us today to talk about her new release “Assasins: Discord”.
Welcome Erica 🙂
Ten Odd Facts about Erica Cameron
1- I once played Cinderella’s Mother in a middle school production of Into The Woods. I had my own tree and everything.
2- On a cruise that stopped in Sicily, my family got stuck in traffic at the end of the day and the boat almost left without us.
3- I drove over 15,000 miles and across the entire continental US in 2015. Because I avoided the major highways, taking farm roads and smaller side-highways, I saw so much beautiful scenery in areas most people never consider visiting unless they have family there.
4- The Muppet Christmas Carol is my absolute favorite Christmas movie, and I’m still mad they took out my favorite song on the DVD version.
5- My senior year of high school, I choreographed a dance about the Holocaust to “Herb Girls of Birkenau” by Rasputina. It was accepted by an adjudication committee to be performed at the National High School Dance Festival in Baltimore Maryland.
6- The first book-length piece of writing I ever finished wasn’t until my senior year of college, and it was Twilight fanfiction. It was horrible, but finishing that was what convinced me I was capable of writing my own stories.
7- Partially because I hate shopping, I’m really great at not buying too many things. Unless we’re talking about books. I have literally eighteen feet of book shelves that are just for my books that are yet to be read. I have a whole separate set of shelves for the books I’ve read and loved enough to keep. There’s about twenty-eight feet of those shelves.
8- I am horrible at favorites. Blue is my favorite color, and both Linkin Park and Twenty One Pilots are tied for favorite band, but I can’t really choose favorites in any other area. My mind usually goes blank when people ask me to try.
9- I’ve gotten horrible at consuming media slowly, particularly books and TV shows. For TV, almost the only way I’ll ever see an entire series is if I wait for the show to be cancelled or completed and then binge watch the whole thing on Netflix. With books, if I don’t finish the book in one sitting, chances are good I won’t finish it at all without a solid push.
10- If I could manage it, I would live in an RV while traveling around the country. Even better would be an apartment on a ship like The World that constantly circles the globe, stopping at hundreds of different ports. I love the concept of traveling while taking home with you.
About Assassins: Discord
Kindra’s moral compass has never pointed north, but that’s what happens when you’re raised as an assassin and a thief. At sixteen, she’s fantastic with a blade, an expert at slipping through the world unnoticed, and trapped in a life she didn’t chose. But nothing in her training prepares her for what happens when her father misses a target.
In the week-long aftermath, Kindra breaks ranks for the first time in her life. She steals documents, starts questioning who their client is and why the target needs to die, botches a second hit on her father’s target, and is nearly killed. And that’s before she’s kidnapped by a green-eyed stranger connected to a part of her childhood she’d almost forgotten.
Kindra has to decide who to trust and which side of the battle to fight for. She has to do it fast and she has to be right, because the wrong choice will kill her just when she’s finally found something worth living for.

I wonder if it was a rights issue with the Muppets DVD? I know connoisseurs always go for rec-theatre showings of EMMETT OTTER’S JUG BAND CHRISTMAS, because they had to take out the Kermit narration scenes on the DVD release because he’s a Disney character now (bah!)…

If you can find a copy with both the directors cut & theatrical release, the song is back!! (I agree about the stupidity of removing it!)

Forgive my confusion, but is this book a romance? Is it M/F or F/F? I can’t tell from the blurb, but a friend seems to think this is F/F. Or is it UF with a mix of characters/relationships (which of course is frowned upon because it has to be EVERYONE is gay or EVERYONE is straight).
Sounds like a great read! 🙂
