Chance “The Chancellor” Gerhardt is a mainstay for Frontier Professional Wrestling. He’s won multiple championships and has the respect of the locker room. But after ten years at the top, Chance is looking for a new challenge. The one he gets, mentoring FPW’s young rookie, is both unexpected and unwanted.
Devin Jacobs is a hot new talent signed by Frontier Professional Wrestling. He’s always been a fan of The Chancellor, and not just because of the older man’s skill in the ring. He has it bad for the steely eyed veteran wrestler. Unfortunately for Devin, The Chancellor isn’t looking to get involved with anyone. Or is he? During long nights traveling and working together, Devin catches more than one secretly admiring glance from The Chancellor…
Devin is determined to earn victories and championships in the ring. But he’d also love the opportunity to win Chance’s heart. Can the two of them navigate their way through the hyper masculinity and backstage politics of professional wrestling to the most important victory of all? Or will their shot at love be defeated 1-2-3?
Christa Tomlinson is a lifelong fan of professional wrestling. When she’s not writing, Christa can be found watching her favorite classic matches or traveling to live wrestling events.
REVIEW:
What a great start to what could potentially be an amazing series. I’ve had a big hit and little misses with this author but I’m happy to say I really enjoyed this story. I’m very eager to see how the rest of the series turns out. This was a completely different setting for a story. I’ve never read a story where the characters were professional wrestlers but this was incredibly interesting and entertaining. The ins and outs of this world were fascinating. And even though at times, Chance drove me a bit crazy I really liked him and Devin.
Chance has been a professional wrestler most of his life. At 38, he’s held several titles and really loves doing what he does. Being a part of a smaller wrestling network sometimes he is assigned newer wrestlers to mentor and coach them. He is, however unprepared for the attraction he feels towards the newest wrestler on the circuit.
Devin is a young and very talented wrestler. He’s incredibly excited to be signed with his first professional wrestling organization but he’s completely enthralled when he finds out his mentor is a wrestler he’s idolized for years.
Chance and Devin start to smolder from the beginning but Chance doesn’t mix business and pleasure so he puts the breaks on almost immediately. Devin doesn’t give up though and when Chance finally gives in these two are incredibly hot together and the wait was so worth it.
There were areas of the story that drug a bit and while I was bored at times I still got very much into the story. There are a few twists and a tiny mystery that also kept me intrigued.
I’m very much interested to see where this author takes the series.
Overall, I enjoyed it and recommend.
