Love Bytes says hello and welcome to author M.J O’Shea joining us today to talk about her new Dreamspun Desires release “Marriage of Inconvenience”.
Welcome M.J 🙂
Around the World with Dreamspun Desires
Hi, this is MJ O’Shea! One of my favorite parts about writing Dreamspun Desires is all the fabulous locations that I get to write. It’s a form of escapism for me just as much as the readers. So far with the series I’ve gotten to go to Lake Como, The Hamptons, a manor in England, a picturesque New England town… and in this newest one Charleston, Hollywood, and a tropical vacation in Turks and Caicos.
I definitely have more locations up my sleeve – maybe a bit of posh upper crust London, or Monaco or who knows? I’m always open to suggestions.
Here’s a little bit of the scene where my two main characters have landed in Turks and Caicos. I’ve never been there, sadly, so I had to do a bit of imagining along with lots of lustful picture gazing…

“I CAN’T believe I’m here,” Kerry breathed. He’d picked out the resort himself when he was setting the trip up, but it didn’t make it seem any more real.
Turks and Caicos. Not exactly on his list of expectations for the year. Or even his twenties. Hell, maybe not ever, although a boy could dream, and clearly those dreams came true.
They were in literal paradise.
The water was light turquoise and clear to the ground, the sky was bright and blue, and the sand was pale and warm but not hot. Kerry never ever wanted to leave. They’d gone for a secluded resort rather than something ashy and crowded. He and Jericho had a cabin near the beach, with its own catering and a private pool. They had to pose for some pap shots that would look so very genuine as long as nobody stopped to think about why there were paps on a secluded beach, but they’d look romantic. Hell, Kerry felt romantic.
He’d just about passed out when he saw their bungalow. It was all teak and white owing linen, surrounded by lush vegetation on three sides with a striking view of the beach from the fourth. Their pool was hidden by tall shoots of bamboo and banana leaves, and the deck featured a stairway right down to it.
Kerry barely knew what to look at. Except the one large bed. He assumed he’d be sleeping on the couch. Or else… well, he didn’t know what to think after the past few days. More kisses, but nothing else. They slept in their own rooms, nothing changed other than the kissing. He was honestly pretty damn confused.
“You want to hit the beach?” Jericho asked. “We aren’t taking any pictures until tomorrow, so we might as well get a little bit of a tan with whatever sun is left for today,” he said.
Neither of them had been seen around town for a few days before the trip. It hadn’t been explicitly stated, but Kerry had the feeling they were going to make it look a lot longer than the four days they were going to be there.
“Sure. I’d love to swim.”
He rarely got to go to the beach at home, and this beach was so, so much better.
Jericho rooted around in his bags for a suit and then went for the bathroom. Kerry changed quickly into his own trunks before Jericho came back out. He was sitting on the bed waiting when Jericho emerged in the trunks Kerry had seen him in back at home.
“Sunblock?” Kerry asked.
“I should be okay. It’s late afternoon. I doubt we’ll get burnt.”
True. Of course Kerry of the lily-white, pale-ass skin didn’t get to take that chance. He still sprayed on a good layer of sunscreen before he followed Jericho out the door of their bungalow.
The beach was something out of a dream—quiet, small and crescent shaped, brushed with the palest of sand and a smattering of pink shells. Kerry thought he might have landed on another planet. It was summer in LA, and had been unbearably hot, but there was a different quality to the air and the ocean, softer somehow. He wanted to touch everything, inhale the sweet oral air, dip his toes in the water, and never ever go home. Too bad they didn’t have very long.

Blurb:
Lights, camera, lies.
Kerry Pickering has a problem. As a publicist for Hollywood bad boy Jericho Knox, it’s Kerry’s job to keep Jericho in the news. So far, Jericho’s partying and public escapades have made it easy. But Jericho has a secret, and when that secret is revealed in the most spectacularly disastrous way, it’s up to Kerry to spin it.
The team decides the best course of action is to make the public fall in love—with Jericho’s secret committed relationship. The one that doesn’t exist. Yet.
The team wants someone they can trust. Someone in the inner circle. That someone is Kerry. But what will happen when Kerry realizes that for him, the romance is no longer pretend? Can Jericho love him back, or is he just playing a role?
Here’s where you can find Marriage of Inconvenience!
