REVIEW:
Here is a really sweet, charming friends to lovers book. I love this trope. I love that someone who you love in a no romantic way becomes that romantic partner you never knew that you needed.
This series is always told in alternating POV’s and I actually like it this way. I love seeing something happen and see how one person sees it and then how another person sees what happened in a different way. I will also say
These two young men have known each forever and have been there for each other with love and affection. Even through all of the trials that they face…not just in love…but family life. They have been there for each other. Yet, these guys are so damn bonded to each other and have each other’s back.
I have to say that between these two guys…Drew really made my heart hurt. I mean, this guy is this really sweet, loving guy and yet…the luck he seems to have when dating…yeah…that sucks. I mean…the non winners that he picked were just so damn worthless. I mean, this guy just wants love really the guy who ACTUALLY gives him the Love and Support that he’s always wanted and needed is right in front of him, yet…I think that they were both too blind to see it.
I have to say that over the course of this story, you get to see that these two men truly love each other and have this unending loyalty to each other. I think that is actually the best part of their relationship. I like that even though they’ve been friends forever, that the idea of loving each other the way that they come to…it was hard for them to see it. I think they just thought…we’re friends and we love each other, we live in different cities so…it’s all good until we find that special someone and lo and behold…that special someone is right there in front them. That they had to go through the Drew’s lover’s death and they spend the time to be around each other and work out what they really feel, once Drew finally understands that his lover’s death was not his fault.
As this is a Cardeno C book, please know that there is lots of sexy times in this story. In just about every chapter…sexy times occur and I have to say that you see that these two have a very healthy sex life with each other.
I LOVE Alexander Collins voice, he knows how to make you fall into a story and you don’t even realize that hours have passed and the book is now over.
Alexander has been narrating all of the Home Series audio books and I have to say…THANK YOU!! I’ve loved this series, but adding his narration has truly added something deeper for me regarding these stories.
Alexander does such a wonderful job eliciting emotions from the written word and pulls you into the story the way a really good narrator should. Alexander does such an AMAZING job bringing the characters to life and allowing you to feel what they are feeling. You are right there with them and going along with them on this journey.
Overall, I like the book…but for me…the narration is really what brings it together for me.
