REVIEW:
This book is really interesting as I think I remember reading the first or second book in the previous series with these characters. I mean, this is truly a vague memory and so I thought going in, that I’d remember more of their stories…I kinda do…but not so much. I feel that in a way it’s hard to really come into a new series with these established characters…that I know have these binding relationships and yet, this is an entirely new series, so I shouldn’t feel left out. However, I found that there was just so much going on with which character was to whom and then there were two characters from the original series that are rarely seen on page.
There is A LOT going on in this first book of this new series. You get to “meet” our 4 MC’s, if you’ve not read the other series that they were in. You get to meet some of the members of “Akhkharu Nassaru…these guys are something else. I have to say that this secret society is totally badass. They have some really good toys. I liked how these people think and act. That they are working towards their goals of keeping the peace and saving lives. I like that being a secret society of humans and paranormal beings are working together in order to keep civilization safe and on-going with humans truly being none the wiser.
I liked this story. I liked that these 4 friends, this family is going to continue doing what they do best…helping to solve crimes. I liked that they have worked together and even though a couple of them are not the trained spies that the other two are…they are in and want to help and do the right thing.
I really enjoyed the way that the author brought these characters along in the new series. We know that it’s not going to be easy…but with their family at their backs…there is noting that can stop them.
