Born a mixed blood amongst the strict Hokkaido, Takeo has always been seen as an outcast. The shadow warrior has remained on the fringes, called on from time to time to do the jobs no one else would do. When he’s commanded to New York City to steal a token item from an Eastern Gray Wolf, he begrudgingly goes as bidden. Once he arrives, he’s tempted by his mark’s twin brother. Losing focus, he’s almost caught somewhere he does not belong and hides—leading him to unwittingly play voyeur. Unable to get the male out of his mind after, he struggles with the desire beating in his heart. Tanner McManus has a fresh face in his bed nearly every night. When he meets a sexy, mysterious male who nearly demands to be taken to that bed, Tanner willingly obliges—and has a night neither can forget. For once Tanner wants more than one night, and it ends up being with someone he shouldn’t want. When Tanner is charged with murder—it’s up to Takeo to prove Tanner is innocent. That is, if Tanner’s willing to look past who Takeo is long enough to help him find the truth. And maybe find themselves with each other.
REVIEW:
Takeo was born of mixed blood amongst the strict Hokkaido and as such he’s always been seen as an outcast. From the moment Takeo was old enough he was sent to his sensei Ryo who trained him to become one of the elite shadow warriors. When Takeo gets directions from his father Yao, leader of the Hokkaido, to travel to America to retrieve a hairbrush he can no longer tolerate the constant insult’s he always receives.
Whilst retrieving the hairbrush Takeo gets his first look at Tanner McManus. It’s not until Takeo returns to Hokkaido Biotech with the hairbrush that he decides to see if he can find out exactly what is going on within the walls of the building. What he finds is very disturbing, huge vats filled with liquid and “people” that look identical to people they shouldn’t! Takeo decides he has to take a stand and stop the atrocities the Hokkaido are perpetrating.
Tanner and his twin Asher computer experts/hackers with their family business McManus Security. McManus Security is responsible for the security of Sanctuary and Wolf’s Chance, the compounds for the Eastern Grey Wolves and Coywolves respectively. When Asher returns from a week at a conference Tanner can sense somethings different about him but he can’t put his finger on it. His scent is different, his word structure is different, everything is different but not overtly.
Takeo waits three months to help Tanner with the problem he doesn’t even know he has. Takeo has done a considerable amount of investigating into what the Hokkaido are doing with the clones and why they needed the hairbrush of one of the owners of the security company for the Eastern Grey Wolves. When Takeo gets the opportunity to kill the fake Asher he does except Tanner gets the blame and is taken into custody for the murder of his twin brother.
Now Takeo has to save Tanner, Asher and himself! It’s not an easy feat with everyone trying to kill everyone. As the third instalment of the Bloodlines Series His Wolven Warrior lived up to the promise of the first two books. The only negative thing I would say about this book is the fact that when it begins you’re a bit lost as to where Tanner and Asher are in the whole scheme of the storyline. I feel it would have been beneficial to have a Prologue to catch-up on the overall storyline and where everyone stands within the series.
