Welcome RJ 🙂
Writing Murder & Mystery
The one that comes to mind immediately is Last Marine Standing (Heroes book 2), where in the end… wait, I’m not telling you that! Of course, if you’ve read The Rancher’s Son, then you’ll know the twists in that book, again they took people by surprise.
But not me, because of course, I’m the author so I know exactly how things were going to go! I’m also that annoying person who watches TV or films and mostly gets the murderer early on (20% actual success rate on working it out, 80% total informed guesswork!). In books I write I worry I telegraph the end (well, apart from the HEA of course which I can’t avoid as I never write anything BUT a HEA!), so when I have a comment like the reader didn’t see the twist coming then I feel quite chuffed with myself**.
What films or books caught you by surprise?
** Pleased. LOL
One burned and broken man finds his way home. Can he find peace in the arms of a man easy to love?Justin made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, battling domestic terrorism, never the man he really was, using hate to avenge the death of his best friend. The friend he’d killed.
What he doesn’t count on is getting shot, and if he’s going to die he wants it to be on Crooked Tree soil. Home.
Sam is as much a part of Crooked Tree as any of the families, and the offer to buy into the ranch is a dream come true. But falling for a hidden, secretive, injured man isn’t the way to keep his head in the game.
