Getting experience with the guy next door seems like a great idea—until the lines blur.
Dev, a geeky first year physics student, has zero sexual experience and he’s determined to change that ASAP. After a bad time in halls of residence, he’s starting the summer term with different housemates and a new plan of action.
Ewan lives in the house next door to Dev. He’s young, free and single, and isn’t looking to change that anytime soon. When awkward circumstances throw them together, Ewan offers to help Dev out in the bedroom in return for maths tutoring, and Dev jumps at the chance.
They work their way through Dev’s sex-to-do list, but what starts as a perfect no-strings arrangement gets more complicated as their feelings for each other begin to grow. If they’re going to turn their lessons in lovemaking into something more permanent, they need to work out how they feel about each other—before they get to the end of Dev’s list.
This book is a complete story and can be read as a stand-alone
REVIEW:
I have to say I have been reading this series from the beginning and thoroughly enjoying them. I didn’t review the first two but am happy to review this new book. Despite all three books being standalone I like the fact that I know the names of the characters that appear.
Author Jay Northcote has a very unique style of writing with the way she portrays her characters and tells their story. I happen to like that style a lot.
This new story brings us two new main characters. Dev, a young man who moved in to the housing that also has Mac and Jez from the first book living there, and Ewan who lives next door. It is not too much to say there is an instant attraction when these two meet for the first time. They are quite opposite men, but there seems to be something there and when Dev and Ewan make a “different” deal trading sex lessons for math tutoring, author Jay Northcote throws us head first in a full-blown erotic m/m romance story.
The tutoring is more than hot, I cannot say different, but the story still stands on its own feet. The connection, the insecurities about their feelings, the processing of the experiences and the idea that there might be more than just sex, is a very interesting story to observe.
Personally I really liked the little added scene of a meeting with Rupert and Josh. Putting that into the mix was a bonus and the epilogue leaves the reader with a warm, comfortable & accomplished feeling.
Definitely a great addition to this already really enjoyable series of standalone stories.
I would recommend picking this up but if you didn’t read the first two, do yourself a favor and pick those two up also and read them in order 🙂
