For as long as I can remember, I’ve only had one goal: survival. It’s what I know. There is no future beyond making it through another night and getting my hands on as much money as possible, by any means necessary. Pride and dignity are things I can’t afford.
It’s been the worst year yet—and not because I live on the streets. That’s nothing compared to being separated from my little girl. But I do what I can, and I send any money I make for her care. I can only hope she remembers me. I’m past desperate, needing her to know how much I love her and that I’ve done everything in my power to make it back to her.
The day I stepped off the bus in Seattle, I saw him. Adrian appeared at a time I most needed a helping hand, and his habit of rescuing strays became my salvation. He gave me hope. He taught me to dream about something I’d never dared to wish for.
A home.
REVIEW:
Oh my God, this author will rip all your emotions out of you with just one of her stories. I am so in love with these amazing stories that this author comes up with. The characters in Home are so much more than average. There’s so much pain here but so much love, hope, and loyalty. This story will put you through it. I was uncomfortable through the first part and I hurt so much for Dominic but then this bright shining beacon of hope lights up the pages and its breathtaking…this whole story is breathtaking!!
Dominic cares about one thing and that is getting back to his little girl. Every decision that he makes is with that goal in mind. Having been on the streets the majority of his teenage years he doesn’t have very many options open to him in regards to making money. So he does what he needs to even if it leaves him feeling like nothing.
Adrian just wants to help. Any and everyone he comes across that may need help Adrian always offers a hand so it is no different with Dominic. Unfortunately, Dominic is reluctant to accept the help because from his experience, help always comes with a price.
These two men embark on such an amazing journey together. There’s so much healing, hope and love in this story. There’s also an incredibly unique little girl that warms your heart.
I absolutely recommend this story! I’ve only read 2 books by this author and both were outstanding!! Recommend! Recommend! Recommend! Can’t say it enough.
