BLURB:
After an undercover assignment that changed his life forever, FBI agent Donovan Cintron is barely hanging on to sanity. His new mission is to forget, by any means necessary, so he tries his hardest. Pills. Booze. The warm bodies that never quite measure up to what he’d had. What he’d lost. It’s almost a relief when he learns his identity might be compromised—except he’s not the only one exposed. So is the husband he hasn’t stopped needing all these years later. He’d been aching to die, but for Levi Nieto, Donovan will live. To protect. To regret. To remember.
The realization that everything he loved was a farce sent Levi Nieto spinning out of control, and running away from the memories. Now Donovan is back in his life, still fully entrenched in darkness. Their physical connection is one thing, but the truth of who they are to each other remains trapped among the anger, violence and lies suffocating them. Fixing what’s broken will take more than each man exposing his scars. Secrets—and blood—must be spilled.
REVIEW:
Avril Ashton is not for the faint of heart. If you want stories of couples frolicking in fields of flowers than this author is not for you. Although, I will say she’s friggin amazing at her craft so if she wanted to do fields of flowers we would get friggin fields of flowers, just sayin’. Anyway, this series takes you on such a crazy emotional journey, and it is so good!! I love how Avril Ashton’s characters love. It’s so completely and fully and make other connections pale in comparison. And I can’t even get started on the sex, it’s dirty, ya’ll…I mean it’s even dirtier than dirty and so incredibly HOT…damn, this author. I’m not even kidding…this author is EVERYTHING!!!
Levi and Donovan have a complicated history. Married, they loved each other harder than they both thought imaginable. Unfortunately lies have torn them and their happy world apart.
Circumstances arise in their crazy, dangerous, convoluted world that thrust them back together after years apart. The spark that brought them together shines just as bright as it did in the beginning and they can’t keep their hands off each other. The reunion between these two is totally hot…and cold. You want to badly for the emotional connection but you know there’s still a lot of healing that needs to be done.
This is definitely not a standalone book but anyone following the Sinners and Loose Ends series will not be lost. I would definitely recommend getting familiar with the other stories though because there are tons of characters involved with the story and I can see how someone might get lost.
Overall, this was beyond amazing!! Huge fan of the author and series….can‘t wait for Dutch and Patel….
