BLURB:
A sexy stripper attempts to escape his dangerously obsessed boss while searching for his missing younger brother.
Stripping used to be fun, lucrative and a place for Dakota to practice for his professional dancing career. But the owner of Glitter Boys wants Dakota for himself and will stop at nothing to possess him. When his thirteen-year-old brother runs away from home to escape their abusive father, Dakota is determined to find him before something awful happens to him on the streets.
Patrol officer Reed hasn’t been attracted to a man in a very long time, but when he’s called to an assault in progress at the LGBTQ teen shelter, a young man approaches him, begging for help in finding his missing brother. An instant spark occurs, but he pushes it away. When the same man is attacked outside a strip club later that night, he discovers the desire is mutual.
As the two men learn more about each other and become closer, the spectre of his obsessed ex-boss remains. In addition to that, Dakota has to fight the system to gain guardianship of his brother and keep him out of foster care. Dakota doesn’t know if the hunky cop he’s fallen so hard for can handle a relationship with an ex-stripper struggling to raise a teenager. But, will Reed be able to give up dating women for good and dedicate himself to their new family?
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of sexual intimidation, scenes of mild physical assault and threats of sexual violence.
REVIEW:
Dakota has been stripping at The Glitter Boys in Vegas for a while now but things are going downhill faster than he could’ve imagined. Ted the stage manager just wouldn’t get the hint that Dakota would never be interested in him, Yuri, the owner thinks he’s just playing hard to get but Dakota would be starring in his porn movies! On top of all that Dakota learns his teenage brother Donovan has run away from home, again. Dakota only needs a few more months of stripping to be able to afford the aerial dance lessons he’s so desperate to have. Yuri decides to take matters into his own hands and gives Dakota a warning, he either goes to live with Yuri and becomes his “lover”, agrees to star in his porn movies and continue to not only strip at Glitter Boys but do whatever/whoever Yuri tells him to then Dakota would be allowed to live.
Dakota has enough and goes into hiding but he can’t do that very well when he has to look for his brother and strip at another club so that he can have a place to live and eat. It’s on one night when Dakota is on his way to the LGBTQ teen shelter to have a look around and possibly find out if Donny is staying there that he meets Reed a police officer with the Las Vegas police Department.
Reed meets Dakota when he and his partner Carlos have finished dealing with their call-out to an incident at the teen shelter and Dakota is trying to get inside the shelter to see if it’s possibly his younger brother who was one of the victims. Reed can’t believe how attracted he is to a complete stranger. The next time they meet is when Reed and Carlos answer a call-out to an assault outside of a strip club. The person being assaulted is Dakota, the person doing the assaulting is Yuri. Yuri runs of course and Dakota is left to explain to the hot cop that Yuri is his ex-boss and had decided that Dakota was his and he wasn’t letting him go. When Dakota explains he’s still searching for his brother, Reed decides he has to help him because as an officer he knows of places where runaways and homeless people stay.
Once they find Donny, Dakota then has to follow procedures to get custody of him. Both Reed and Dakota then have to decide are they going to act on their attraction. Not only will they have their hands full with Donny but they also have Reeds daughter to help get adjusted to the fact that her father is in a committed relationship with a man.
I have to admit I love Morticia’s Sin City Uniforms series and Strip Search is another winner. I would recommend to everyone that if they haven’t started reading this series, they need to!
