REVIEW:
For the most part, this story is told in first person and from Kat’s point-of-view. However, there are parts of the story told in third person, those being from Kat’s bestie, Cathy, and Lil’s point-of-view. It’s not a writing style I am familiar with but D.L made it work extremely well! It allowed me to get to know three very likeable characters, firsthand.
Kat is a lady who knows what she likes, and that’s a smorgasbord of women to choose from, and none who want to tie her down – figuratively and literally. Kat identifies as an alpha female and this made for a yummy hook-up complete with a jolly good spanking, yum! This story has more than one explicit scene, which is a delicious treat for those who enjoy a spicy read.
Kat’s best friend Cathy tries to convince her it’s time to settle down. Kat’s not ready to hear it and because of that she can’t see what’s right under her nose. Until her friend interjects. Everyone needs a bestie like Cathy.
Due to the professions of our leading ladies there’s a lot of bar and restaurant talk, which will appeal to readers who enjoy reading about food and beverages. I love discovering how titles come about and, while I thought this one was self-explanatory, it’s not quite so black and white.
This is a short story with plenty of spank bank material and a feel good happy-ever-after. If you’re looking for a spicy book that’ll make you hot and make you smile, you can’t go far wrong by picking up a copy of Stubborn as a Bull.
