SERIES: Mad Dogs #6
AUTHOR: Brenda Cothern
PUBLISHER: Wench Publishing, Inc.
LENGTH: 194 Pages
RELEASE DATE: April 2, 2016
BLURB:
The attack on their downtime base, Camp Smokey has caused the Mad Dogs to scatter. Aside from the core pack and the former Watcher Duke, the status of their CO, McCormick, and Councilman Representative, Rolex, is unknown.
Either their own Order or the Organization is trying to take them out. Going AWOL is their only option until they can figure out which faction is hunting them… and who they can trust.
This book is part of a series and should not be read as a stand alone novel.
REVIEW:
We’re back again, with the continuing story of the Mad Dogs, an elite secret group of “made” werewolves who battle to protect us mere mortal humans from a large shadow group called the Organization.
At the end of S.N.A.F.U., book five in the series, we were left with the Mad Dogs secret base, Camp Smokey in ruins after an attack by someone. We still don’t know for sure who the attack was perpetrated by, but the guys are on the run. In their mated pairs of two, they are off in different directions, all with one order….get to the nightclub “Shadows” in Tampa’s Ybor City.
Those of you who have been reading along, or who have read Ms. Cothern’s other books, will recognize the area and the bar, and will remember that the owner and staff of the bar came to the Mad Dogs aid previously in the series.
But someone is out to get them. Will any of them live to get to Tampa? Will they find out who the attackers were at Camp Smokey? Trust me, there will be some surprises along the way in this one!
I enjoy Ms. Cothern’s books. They are consistent in their readability. I’ve really come to like the guys in the Mad Dogs and their individual personalities. The beginning of this installment jumped back and forth between the different pairs as they were traveling and I found it a little distracting at first, but once things progressed I didn’t put the book down until I finished it. I really liked that the Tampa shifters and vamps showed up again in this book, and hope we see more of them in the future installments! I’m not going to do any more spoilers but…one final note, this wouldn’t be a Mad Dogs book if it didn’t end with an opening for the next book…
I recommend this book, and this entire series, as well as everything else I’ve read by this lady. I think you will enjoy it! Please pay attention to the author’s comment at the end of the blurb. This is definitely an installment in a series, which reads more as a long book broken up into sections. I would not recommend picking up any of the books in the wrong order, because they all build on the previous installments.
