REVIEW:
There’s a quote on the cover that likens this book to a gay cross between the Da Vinci Code and the Raiders of the Lost Ark and after reading it, I find that I have to agree! The author managed to bring a diverse cast of characters together in an action filled adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and was loathe to put down. The book starts by introducing the various members of Fathom’s Five, which was both necessary to setting up the story and an interesting look at each individual man in their own element. From there the men are brought together and set off in the search of the priceless yet controversial Cross of Sin.
Let me start off by saying that the story itself was really, really good; I had no problem envisioning this as a movie and one that I would love to watch, at that! The descriptions made it easy for me to see what the author wanted and the action kept the story moving along at a great pace, besides just being plain entertaining. Each member of the group was given their time to shine over the course of the story and it was easy to see why they worked so well together; the author really did balance it all perfectly. By the end of the book I was a total fan and it ended much the same way as it began; by giving glimpses of each individual man as they went their separate ways. It also set up perfectly for the sequel, which I just can’t wait to get my hands on!
This was just such a good book and was just what I was craving without knowing it; if you’re an adventure junkie, like action or mystery books or just want to read about a group of really hot men this could be the book for you. It certainly was for me!

[…] The Cross of Sins (Fathom’s Five #1) by Geoffrey Knight […]
[…] There were quite a few different things going on here, like in the previous installment, but it was all easy to follow and each man on the team still appeared to work to their strengths and all were showcased fairly well. One minor complaint could be that the story in this book actually seemed easier here than in the first book and there were less overall parts, as well. The easier story line, however, allowed for other problems and future issues to be brought up such as Will’s father; that man needs a serious attitude adjustment! There were still sexy times though those were confined to the beginning half of the book but, really, that felt appropriate since the focus here was on saving Sam’s life not trying to get laid. My biggest problem with the book though was the ending. Or, it wasn’t a problem per se but the ending just left me feeling a little down (and irritated seeing as how Jake has provided for Sam as much as possible) as Jake just seemed to get stomped on again. Someone needs to take that man home and give him some love because he really needs it. Overall this was an easy action packed read that, while not the most complex (or realistic at times) that I’ve ever read, was still hella entertaining and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. My review of the first book in the series, The Cross of Sins, can be found here. […]
