Today we welcome back to our blog author J.A Rock. J.A is here to talk about her new release “Manties in a Twist”.
Welcome J.A 🙂
Hi! I’m J.A. Rock, and right now I’m touring the internet talking about my latest release Manties in a Twist—Book 3 in The Subs Club series. Thanks so much to the blogs that are hosting me on this tour, and be sure to leave comments on the tour posts for a chance to win your choice of two backlist ebooks and a $10 Amazon gift card!
Megalodons
I’ve talked elsewhere on this tour about how it helps me each time I start a book to find something the MCs and I can bond over. The Subs Club guys were no exception. Kamen and I had hot sauce. Miles and I had our crippling feelings of inadequacy. Dave and I had…I’m not sure what we had. But we got along fine, at any rate. But I didn’t gel as quickly with Ryan, Kamen’s love interest in Manties. Which is why I finally gave Ryan my undying love for megalodons.
It felt right: Ryan’s got a bit of a Napoleon complex, and he’s very fierce, and it just seemed natural that he’d idolize a 100-ton, 70-foot-long, prehistoric shark that didn’t take shit from anyone.
Sharks have long been my obsession, and Great Whites had always topped my list of favorite sharks. But when I discovered Steve Alten’s Meg series at age ten and learned there had once existed a predator that was basically a Great White on crack? Game changer.
The Meg series is set into motion when, through a series of unfortunate submarine-related circumstances, the presumed-extinct megalodon is discovered living in the depths of the Mariana Trench, and one is accidentally dragged up through the miles of frigid water that previously separated humanity from its worst nightmare. The unleashed Meg then proceeds to eat pretty much everything. I don’t just mean people. I mean restaurants, helicopters, party boats…and, spoiler alert, it gives birth to some more megalodons at the end, so that the series can continue for four more glorious books.
I try not to use the term “guilty pleasure,” because if I like something, why feel guilty about it? I do admit that the Meg books leave something to be desired in terms of characterization and logic, and, by the time we reached Meg 4: Hell’s Aquarium, use of full sentences. But I adore them. Like many shark lovers, I wish that 99% of shark related entertainment didn’t portray sharks as man-eating monsters. But…come on. A megalodon eating an entire pier, fine dining establishment and all? It’s a good time. The other day, I couldn’t remember my own phone number when asked to write it on a form, but I remember the names and distinct markings of every megalodon that has appeared in the Meg series. It’s a little scary.
I’m not sure what the point of this post is, except that if you like books about giant sharks, you should check out this series. And that Ryan and I will be forever bound by our love for the noble megalodon…which may actually still be alive and lurking in the ocean’s depths, waiting for a submarine mishap to bring it to the surface. You never know. Jaws music.
About Manties in a Twist
Look, I’ll never stop missing Hal, but this Subs Club my friends started to review suck-ass doms isn’t gonna bring him back or give him justice. For me, it’s just another chance to hang out with my friends, even if they think I’m too dumb to understand the important work we’re supposedly doing.
But maybe I’m not as dumb as they think—at least I know when I’ve got a good thing going. Which is why I just moved in with my dom. Ryan’s awesome possum. He’s really short, never makes me feel stupid, and is up for anything. One word: costumes. Two more words: women’s underwear. We’re all about the lace, no leather.
Except when we do pony play. We first tried it as a joke, but turns out I’m ballin’ at it. Now PetPlayFest is coming up, and I wanna take down the Subs Club’s archrival, Cinnamon the ponygirl, in the horse show.
My friends think I’m spending too much time with Ryan and ignoring my obligations to the group. But since when is friendship an obligation? Ryan’s my first serious relationship, and I want to take it . . . seriously. At some point I need to think about my future, not my past.
—Kamen
About the Subs Club series
After the death of their friend Hal at the hands of an irresponsible dom, submissive friends Dave, Kamen, Miles, and Gould band together to form the Subs Club—an organization seeking to expose dangerous local doms. The club slowly evolves as romances blossom, loyalties are tested, and tensions mount in a community already struggling for unity in the wake of Hal’s death.
From domestic discipline to knife play to fashion paraphilia, and from family drama to new jobs to first loves, the members of the Subs Club explore life’s kinks inside and outside of the bedroom as they attempt to let go of the past and move forward.

Happy release week, J!
As a reader it also would help if I could find something in common with the MC to immerse myself with the story. Since you mention “hor sauce” it seems I know some of that stuff is! 😉

Happy release week!! And thanks for the great giveaway!!! irokou_(@)hotmail(.)com
Hmmm I usually prefer to read a series after it has finished so that I won’t be biting my nails till the author writes the next (that’s why I’ve never started GoT before it became a tv series xDDD… sorry off topic) and read them in one go but I’m getting more and more intrigued and I might cave in the end
