BLURB:
When two KCPD detectives go undercover to catch a band of drug dealers, they reel in more than they were expecting.
Detective Gene Page remembers all too well the recent deaths caused by the Insanity drug. His task force was close to apprehending one of the major pushers in the area, but had to pull back when another detective’s son was threatened. Now Page is back on the case, working undercover and looking to bring down the local members of the notorious Montoya drug cartel.
Sexy Rastafarian drug dealer Suede Santana is high on his list of people to watch. Page could watch the handsome hunk all day, in fact, but knows he can never touch. When Suede is finally apprehended, he has a story of his own to tell, and the KCPD is forced to rethink their tactics. Diego Montoya is the head man in charge and they focus their efforts on bringing him down. But does the undercover task force have a chance of succeeding when they find out Montoya has disappeared without a trace?
REVIEW:
KCPD Detective Eugene “Gene” Page and his partner Robin “Bobbi” Crouch have been tasked with going undercover to bring down the Montoya cartel. Gene and Bobbi are determined to bring down as many of the cartel members as they can since their colleagues’ son’s life was threatened by one of their drug dealers.
When Gene and Bobbi finally get a meet with one of the top drug dealers within the organisation things don’t exactly go to plan. They almost get killed and they get arrested but they do get the top drug dealer Suede Santana and he just happens to be the one they were after! Except they didn’t get what they thought they got, “Suede Santana” is really Special Agent Rafael Vega. Rafael has been undercover for the DEA for the last two years and there is no way he’s going to let two young detectives ruin the last two years’ work.
From the moment Gene lays eyes on the sexy Suede/Rafael, he’s in lust. He’s never been immediately attracted to a man before and one he doesn’t know for sure is gay. When Suede goes to bat for Gene to get him accepted into the cartel as one of his new dealer’s things get very intense very fast. Gene agrees with Rafael when he says it can’t be anything more than a right-now thing between them as he won’t be able to stay in Kansas after the bust goes down because he’ll have a target on his head. The only problem is Gene has never had a one-night stand before and already has feelings for Rafael that only deepen the more they’re together. The situation heats up to boiling point for Gene when he gets beaten to within an inch of his life by the cartels “goons”.
When the bust goes down it happens for reasons that will surprise you. As with all of Jenna Byrnes books in the Kansas City Heat series, Page’s Price takes the intensity and emotionality to the next degree! Kansas City Heat is a series you definitely don’t want to miss out on! Grab your copy today 🙂
