Big Ben challenges young Cody to a wrestling match with stakes. The match and the stakes will take Cody into new places with both his wrestling and his idea of sex. The real question is whether or not Cody will come out on top, or will his fate rest in the hands of the heel, Big Ben?
REVIEW:
I have no idea what I was thinking when I agreed to take this book. This is so not what I expected. I guess I though that it was wrestling based and exploration of a young man’s sexuality. Although it is based on amateur wrestling and it did force Cody to explore his sexuality it was definitely NOT what I had thought and so far beyond what I find okay and am comfortable with! When Cody is goaded and bullied into a wrestling match, with the stakes that he have his virginity taken from him, was way not okay! The only thing about the sex that was the least bit okay was that it was not brutal but pretty vanilla. But it still was dubious consent at best. I can not recommend this book at all. It is brutal and wrong! The hardest part to stomach is that I read that this really is a real activity and these stories are somewhat based on the author’s own experiences. There must be a readership for these stories but it isn’t with me.
