BLURB:
Delia and Daniel have a picture-perfect life. They like their jobs. They love their house. Everything is coming up roses . . . but in private, they’d rather have the thorns. Their recent forays into kink have brought them closer than ever, but there’s still something missing, and they can’t quite work it out.
Mara knows what she’s missing: a significant other. She tried vanilla, and it was a total bust. But when she and her last girlfriend took things out of the kink club and into the “real” world, they fizzled. Even their friendship is on the rocks now. Mara feels like a lost stray, looking for a forever home.
When the three of them meet up at the brand-new club Escape, their connection is instant. And surprising—none of them were expecting more than a few hot nights. But now they might be ready to bring their kinky threesome into the light of day and build a life together.
REVIEW:
To begin with, the thing I loved most about this story was the realism of our couple, Delia and Daniel. They knew what they wanted but were unsure how to go about it. Daniel’s uncertainty when trying to dominate his wife, whether he was doing it right or not, made it difficult for Delia to submit to him, as much as she longed to. I felt for them and it was clear they needed some outside help.
From that point forward, the realism of the story took a downward dive, at least for me. The way they obtained the phone number to a so-called exclusive club, came across as odd. But I’m sure stranger things have happened. Also, I didn’t get why Delia was all bashful when Dan saw her looking at lesbian porn in the adult store, as apparently it was no secret between them that she’d experimented with girls before they married.
The introduction to Mara was hot but odd. There’s a whole lot of introspection going on, about her job and life, and the next thing I knew, she was being asked to stretch it out and turn over. I was like, what the hell? Turned out she was on a cross being beaten by her Mistress, while explaining her life to the reader. Once I got over the reader whiplash the scene that unfolded was one of the hottest in the story! When the flogger lashed across Mara’s clit I nearly came myself!
After the scene, Mistress Amie and Mara have a heart-to-heart and agree while they scene well together, they’ll never be more outside of the club. Which leads to Amie giving Mara the phone number to the ‘exclusive club’.
Of course the inevitable happens and at this point, the three main characters cross paths. That brings me to what I found truly odd, the way these three were thrown together. A new couple, Daniel and Delia, join a club needing guidance and Mara, also new to the club is assigned to them as their monitor! Seriously, three new members left to their own devices? All I can say is thank goodness no one got hurt, well not without their consent anyway!
Any semblance of respect I had for Daniel went down the toilet during the scenes that unfolded. The first time he fist-pumped the air for managing to get Mara to cry out, I went with it. The second time, and his subsequent preening, was a great way to turn me off him. When reading any ménage story, I always wonder how a three-way relationship can survive, or more importantly if it will.
At the end of the day, or should I say story, I was happy that all three found what they were looking for.
