When two unlikely heroes step into his life, Grit reluctantly accepts the safety they appear to offer. Thrust into a world where he can only observe and not participate even if he’d wanted to, Grit learns to cope—with his past and his future. After all, he always lands on his feet.
A chance meeting with an incredible dominating man turns Grit’s world upside down. Where Grit has always made his own rules, this Master wants to control him, and Grit’s desire to please this tender-hearted man shifts his tightly controlled world on its axis. Can Grit embrace the changes in his life, and will the control of this Master lead Grit to the freedom he searches for?
REVIEW:
This is the 4th book in this series of novellas about DOMZ.com’s subs and their masters. This is Grit’s story. If you remember, Grit was the young cross dressing prostitute that Jett was caught with.
I’m really glad that the author wrote about their young man as I wondered what became of him once he and Jett were caught in an alley of their neighborhood. I know that there was more to his character and I wanted to read his story.
And that story, when revealed, was quite sad. This young man did what he had to do to survive; to keep food on the table for him and his ill mother. As with all of the other subs in this series, his story is positively heartbreaking. Victim of domestic violence, physical abuse and rape as a child, Grit is an incredibly resilient young man. Grit truly lives up to his name because he didn’t allow what happened to him break his spirit and his ability to love.
I wish I could say that the relationship between Grit and his Dom Jimmy developed along nicely but you don’t really get much of their relationship development. Even though this story was about Grit, you saw a lot of Zach and Cassidy’s and Trick and Master P’s relationship development. Well, actually, you saw Zach and Cassidy’s relationship moving along familiar lines and Trick and Master P’s endless drama play throughout this book as well. There was one character who I absolutely fell in love with: Vesper.
I think she is an absolute sweetheart and I really wanted to see more interactions with her.
This novella ended as abruptly as the others before it giving it a somewhat unfinished feel. I’ve gotten used to it and it doesn’t bother me much because I realize the story will continue in the next installments.
Please be advised that this story depicts child rape and domestic violence so if those are your triggers, it is advised you skip those parts.
