LENGTH: 82 Pages
RELEASE DATE: February 9, 2016
BLURB:
Sometimes the only way to spring a trap is to use live bait.
Teddy Austin has had more than his share of run-ins with local law enforcement. The Wyverns have a reputation to maintain, and Teddy feels it’s his duty to cause havoc whenever possible. Of course, getting arrested means time in the company of Sheriff Adrian Hayder—always a bonus—though Teddy would far prefer to have the sheriff wearing the cuffs.
When The Knights of War MC arrives in Phoenix, Trap orders The Wyverns to get inside information. In order to infiltrate the gang, Teddy must appear to betray his friends and switch his allegiance. Working undercover, however, he confirms what they have all suspected—The Knights of War are a cover for something much more sinister than a hell-raising bunch of bikers, and they fully intend to turn Phoenix into a battleground.
With Sheriff Hayder getting far too close to the truth, Teddy is left with a few problems—how to stop a war, keep his balls intact and ensure the man he loves keeps breathing.
REVIEW:
An excellent continuation of The Wyverns series. I really enjoyed this one…right up until 88% on my Kindle, with 33 minutes left in the book, when I hit the dead end. I absolutely despise when a publisher tags on a chapter of another book by the author on the end of a book as a teaser. You’re rolling along in a good story, flip a page, find an abrupt ending, and then…another book? I always feel cheated, and indeed I did this time. One other thing I have to mention, there were a few British English words that slipped through on this one, which I don’t remember happening on the other two installments. For example, whinge, lounge and bloke. Not bad, but culturally inappropriate for bikers in the US.
OK, so now that I’ve vented, let’s talk about this book. In this installment we have the story of Teddy Austin, who is the member of the Wyverns that constantly seems to get arrested and locked up in the local jail. That would be a bad thing, right? Wrong. I forgot to mention the big sexy Sheriff named Adrian Hayder that Teddy has a thing for. Is there any chance the “thing” is reciprocal?
Something new is going on in town. A rival motorcycle club, named the Knights of War have moved in. But something is off with this group. They feel wrong. Mr. Trap, the shadowy figure we’ve heard about in the previous books, orders the Wyverns to infiltrate, but will they be able to without getting any of their members killed?
If you like outlaw biker stories, with a slight twist, I think you will really enjoy this one. I highly recommend this installment, but recommend you read the previous two installments in the series first. They all tie together, and there would be some pieces that wouldn’t make sense if you didn’t know the past history. I’m going to ignore the “extra” chapter at the end of the book, and how much it made me a grumpy old bear for a few minutes, and rate the story itself. In my opinion, it is a 4.5 out 5.0 stars. Keep them coming please!
