Three couples strive for their happily ever after . . . .
Christopher Waters is a happy man . . . mostly. Physically and emotionally healed from being shot, he wants nothing more than to finish his training as a submissive and to call his boyfriend, Tatum Steele, his Master. However, secrets and old wounds could stand in the way of having all he desires.
Harry Daggett has met tragedy, hardship, and hurt at every turn, leaving him an emotionally scarred man who must conquer his anxiety in order to finally marry the man he loves. Connor Locke has always been his rock and savior, but to take control of his future, it is Harry who must take the lead.
Jesse Martin knows something is wrong with his boyfriend, Mark Duncan. The nightmares have stopped, but the distance in their relationship remains. And when he finds something that makes him question everything they have, Jesse lashes out in a way Mark can’t let go. Together since college, the two are lost without each other, but only the truth will set them free.
REVIEW:
This is the third and last book in the Bonds of Truth series. It seemed to be the “wrapping all the loose ends up” book. I have been a hue fan of this series. I had thought that this was going to be Jesse and Mark’s book. The first in the series “Forging Bonds” was Tatum and Christopher’s story. It was a MM BDSM book. Then we got Tatum’s law office partner and best friend, Connor’s story in “Renewing Bonds”, which was not BDSM but gripping and brutal underside of male prostitution and its horrors. It was the story of Connor finally finding and rescuing his long lost love, Harry.
Jesse, the newest partner in the law firm, and Mark, his boyfriend, have been in the series but not in their own book so I had assumed that this was their story. Jesse and Mark have been together since early college and seemed the most solid relationship but looks aren’t always what they seem. Their story is featured in here but it turned out it is actually the three-part conclusion of all six men and how they achieve their HEA.
I am usually happy to get my endings sewn up but am not sure I got all I needed here. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book and am thrilled to hear the stories told but, I just didn’t feel like I got the whole ending, especially with Jesse and Mark. I know that all the men are happy and well matched. That the men these Alpha Lawyers chose are well taken care of but, I thought there was just more to be told. I felt pretty complete with Tatum and Christopher’s story but I love weddings and hope there is a novella in the future for theirs. Also, Jesse and Mark need their engagement story (and wedding)!
