REVIEW:
Quentin is nearly at the end of his rope; with his mother’s medical bills piling up faster than they’re being paid down, he needs to find a job and fast. To make things worse, Quentin’s friend, Glenn, is murdered while waiting for him and he somehow finds himself the new owner of a group of bone wolves which are both illegal to make and expensive to register. Working as a bounty hunter was never what he envisioned for himself but with everything else in tatters around him, this could be his one saving grace.
This book had a lot of great things going for it. The cast was diverse and interesting; I liked each person introduced and it was nice how they all brought something different to the story. Quentin himself was a great main character. He was stuck in the middle of so much bad stuff but was still determined to find a solution and despite all of the trouble, he wasn’t willing to compromise who he was to get out of it. I’m stubborn myself so I can appreciate that. Jakinson was entertaining in that he was constantly caught off guard by Quentin and I found that highly amusing. When it came to what he wanted, however, he did realize he needed to compromise and I thought that showed a lot of promise for his relationship with Quentin.
There was a lot going on in the book though only a couple of major problems are dealt with here, leaving plenty of story for the next book to cover. (There is one in the works but no series listed yet) I really enjoyed the set up for this universe and the diversity with the setting and characters kept me entertained throughout the entire book. Really good start to a new series, I look forward to seeing where the next installment goes.

I just bought this book so I appreciate your review. However, I’m disappointed that there will be a lot of loose ends. Hate when the author doesn’t let readers know before they buy the book.
