REVIEW:
OH MY LANTA!!!!
That’s what I’m gonna start this review with. Because we all know that I’m A HUGE Fan of this series…so in case you missed it….
OH.
MY.
LANTA.
So, as you all know…I’ve been in love with this series since I read the first book and can I just say…Charlie Cochet is a great author and this series is getting better and better!! I finished this book and was like….SAY WHAAAATTTT?
This charming story is all about Calvin and Hobbs. Now, we’ve gotten to know them some during the series and start to fall for them. This book…DAMN…these guys just got more Amazing. You see through each character’s eyes and really get to know who they are. I have to say that there was way more to these guys than I even guessed and I’m really happy that their story got told.
Calvin…man there is so much more to him. Calvin, best friend to Ethan Hobbs, THIRDS Agent, son, sniper…just so many facets to the man and yet, we’ve barely scratched the surface of getting to know him. I liked that when we say things from Calvin’s POV…we truly got to see who Cal is. I have to say that I fell more in love with him. To see just how much Cal took on himself and how much he didn’t want to burden anyone. I love how much he loves Ethan. How he would do anything for him. Golly, when…no, that’s a spoiler and I promised myself…none of those. Just to say…Calvin is a WWWWAAAYYY Better Man Than I Originally Thought.
Ethan…Oh My Sweet, Gentle, Kind Ethan. Now, I have to say that I’ve always liked Ethan. I mean, how could you not? He’s so sweet and gentle and just Dammit, I want to hug him and let him know that it’s all gonna be ok. I love that Ethan is still this really amazing guy, even with his Selective Mutism, Ethan tries so hard to be able to be seen as someone who is not worthless. Someone who can do his job and do it well. I swear…every time something was going on in Ethan’s POV…my heart was just laid bare. To actually see one of his attacks from his POV…it was heartbreaking. Because I wanted to be there with him to let him know that it’s ok.
So, let’s get into the secondary characters…We of course get the DD Team. I get my Ash fix and really…that’s Most Important. I have to say that seeing Ash and Cael…truly does my heart happy. We get some Seb and Rafe action. I have to say…we learn so much more about the Hobbs and Summers families. Golly…all that I learned about what the Hobbs family has gone thru and is still going thru…I am just so…wow…I don’t even have the words. I’m glad that we get to see some sort of coming together for the Hobbs brothers. I swear…my heart hurt for them All. We get to meet Cal’s mom, she’s mentioned a lot in this book and we get some screen time with her. I love how she loves her son and just how much she’s worked to keep her son safe. I truly love seeing stories where a parent does what a parent should be doing to love and protect their children. I love seeing Rosa and Letty and we get to meet Rosa’s girlfriend, Milena. I liked her. We get to hear about Dimples the firefighter…I can’t wait to actually meet his character. I got my Tony fix as well, and you know Tony…telling thing like it is. Lt. Sparks…well, I have to say…she lives up to the reputation that we’ve seen of her. But I will say that Damn…Sonia Sparks…she’s a serious Bad Ass and I really want to know more about her. I think that there is a lot more to her than we get to see and hopefully… get more of her and seeing who she really is.
I won’t even get into the sexy times in this book because….DAMN…Enough Said.
So, this book is a great addition to the series and I just have to say…Charlie…I Love & Hate you in almost equal measures. The ending….Really…Damn. So, get this latest installment of the THIRDS series and get taken on a wonderful, emotional journey…you totally won’t regret it.
So, Charlie…really…you’re not gonna make me wait like forever are you? I mean…I really HATE Waiting and I have to know that MY BOYS (YES, I’m calling them Mine) are ok. I finished and just sat in stunned silence…which if you know me…know how odd that is for me. Please don’t make me wait too long…I might not survive…PLEASE.
