Writing on the page sex
First of all, thank you for hosting me on your blog. I greatly appreciate the opportunity. Releasing Erotica was never on my radar, and without going into details, this novel is the result of a project that never came to fruition. I don’t regret that part, and I think, in the end, Ross is better off in this format, as a character with his own novel.
The book is very unlike my other work, and I sometimes joke that I’ve written three erotic novels: my first, my last and my only one. I’ve gained a new and deeper understanding for writers of erotic fiction. First of all, writing sex is hard, and I’m not just talking about the frequent erections needing to be dealt with smack in the middle of writing a scene. That.
The real difficulty is variation. After all, I wasn’t about to write a new version of the Kama Sutra, and in real life (I am, after all, primarily a contemporary writer), most people have a limited number of positions they tend to use. There’s the missionary, doggy style, riding, and – of course – the use of furniture. Needless to say, to write about sex for weeks at a time, was challenging. I’m not into BDSM or any other of the more popular kinks, I like my sex fairly vanilla, and that would also be what Ross would encounter. In order to keep it realistic and believable, I wanted to make sure that I had personal experience to draw from, and with the exception of one scene, I can honestly say that I have. In gay fiction, there’s an abundance of ridiculous sex, sex that is not only physically impossible, but also sex that is pure fantasy, e.g. painless anal intercourse, particularly for anal virgins. I’ll leave that to others to write.
My goal in Ross Deere – Handy Man was to write sex scenes that are realistic, down to earth, plausible and – above all – enticing to the reader, male or female. I’ve read this book countless times, and still, it has its effect on me. Now I may not be the perfect litmus test, since this is the kind of sex I personally enjoy having. Nevertheless, I hope it is enjoyable to read for you, too.
In my “ordinary” writing, you’ll see very few on the page sex scenes. It’s not that I shy away from it, quite the contrary, I have some really beautiful love and sex scenes in almost all of my stories, but normally, I will banish sex off the page unless it is crucial to the plot development. In my coming novel, Jonathan’s Promise, the sequel to my to-date bestseller, there is a really hot massage scene. It is vital for the book, one of the most important scenes in the book, and therefore quite explicit.
For Ross, sex is his life, it basically is the story, and therefore, it is up front and center stage. Although, you’ll see, as the plot thickens, the more heartier parts of Ross’ character take more place, until the resolution in the final chapter. I hope you’ll give Ross a chance. If you like erotic fiction, with a sense of humor and a great romance at its core, you’ll most certainly enjoy your time with Ross. Happy reading, and welcome to my world.
“Jason undid the towel and grabbed my balls with his right hand, gently cupping them, rolling them in his hand. “Do you like that?” I asked, continuing to kiss him.
“I’ve never done this before.”
“Suck my dick, go ahead,” I said, gently pushing his head down toward my throbbing cock. Jason obliged and started to suck my dick, like he was sucking a Popsicle at first, but after a couple of pointers, he quickly adjusted his style and proceeded to work on my dick like a pro. Soon, I had to literally lift him off my cock or I would’ve exploded right into his mouth.
“Wow, hang in there, buster. Give me a break. I was about to bust a nut, and you’re still fully clothed. Let’s see if we can change some of that.”
I started to unbutton his shirt and slid it off, revealing a hairless, flat chest. Nerd, right. He’d never lifted anything heavier than a book in his life. Jason opened his slacks and slid them off. He was white Fruit of the Loom briefs underneath.
You can’t make this shit up, can you?

I’m an author. I write books. I write about things that are important to me: family, parenting, children, our environment, our world. Contemporary, fresh fiction with happy endings. It’s what I like to read myself. I write because I don’t have a choice. There are so many stories in my head, constantly forming, constantly trying to get out. Feel free to have a look on the other pages to learn more, listen to me narrate from those stories, and – if you like what you see or hear – follow the links to buy the books. I’d greatly appreciate that, as this is how I try to make my living.
I’m an author. But I’m also a forty something male who clings to the illusion of still being twenty-seven, despite my body’s daily reminders to the contrary. I’m married to the most amazing man, and together we have a beautiful son, Sascha. I consider myself a citizen of the world, having lived on two continents and traveled extensively through another three. I have friends all over the world. When I’m not writing, I like to do public speaking or training (where I have my professional background) to actually earn some real bill-paying money. Not sure this author thing is ever going to get me there…
