Author’s Note
Though not technically part of a series, The Stolen Suitor is set in the same town (Clyde’s Corner, Montana) as my 2013 Christmas novella A Prairie Dog’s Love Song. If you are interested in reading Ben and Joshua’s story, you’ll find it in that book.
REVIEW:
I have been a fan of Eli Easton ever since I read her “Sex in Seattle” series. When I read the blurb and realized I would get hot, rich cowboys in Montana I couldn’t wait to read this. I have always had a thing for hot cowboys and gay, hot cowboys are even better. Then throw in the whole Mama sending her boys out to get what she wanted. Sold. Unfortunately, that isn’t the way it happened. It started off with Mama Mabe telling her two boys how they were going to get hold of Big Basin Ranch. But her scheming seemed to fall by the wayside almost immediately. Her oldest son Eric doesn’t seem to put out by it and having her youngest son, Jeremy, court a guy doesn’t seem to bother either her or either son. And then it didn’t seem that Mabe’s scheme was even all that important. I liked both Chris and Jeremy but the book went very slowly with them, almost too slowly and then, bam, they we together and it got hot and heavy. There were some tender moments as Chris realized that Jeremy was a virgin and completely inexperienced. But it didn’t seem paced. I was also surprised that they seemed to forget the whole scheme and never told anyone. Just seemed a bit backhanded.
On a whole, I wanted Chris and Jeremy to wind up together and Eric to wind up with Trix and her daughter Janie. It seemed like the perfect win/win situation for all. I was surprised by several of the twists that I never saw coming. This was a nice, fluffy romance story with the HEA I need and all but it just wasn’t one of my favorite Eli Easton books. If you are looking for some light hearted romp this would be fine.
