REVIEW:
For a short story this one had a lot going on. I love finding stories featuring more mature women. Terra and Allie had both been through a lot in their personal lives. Of course they wonder how life could have played out if they’d met earlier, but then like the characters I believe everything happens for a reason and they needed to go through what each of them did to notice a good thing when they found it.
The story is told from both Allie and Terra’s point of views, and to begin with I found myself a little lost as to whose head we were supposed to be in. I’m not sure if there was a bit of head hopping or if I just failed to keep up. For example… ‘Her fingertips lingered at the cleft where the weight of her breasts rested against her chest and scratched the soft fullness below her tiny belly button’. In sentences like this I had no clue which ‘her’ was ‘her’ – did that make sense?
Continuing from the above, there was some nice lady love, although I personally don’t care for the word ‘baby’ during sex, especially not when the couple have just met. With that said, the addition of toys made it hot! I have/had never read a story with the use of a dental dam so kudos to the author for adding a unique touch to the sex scene!
Around the 70% mark the story started to flow really well and I found myself more invested in the characters. Then, it came to an end all too soon, which is of course, the nature of short stories.
