REVIEW:
Another new-to-me author. I look forward to new stories by authors that I have yet to discover. That is one of the “perks” of getting to read and review these books that have been sent in.
This was the story of two men, actor Theo Samuels meeting countryman Eddie Henderson. The men have an instant report and become friendly. Both men are deeply closeted and no desire or signs of coming out any time in the future.
This story was set in the countryside of England. I had a bit of trouble understanding some of the phrases that were spoken by the men. They were obviously English phrases that I was unfamiliar with. It slowed me down several times, trying to figure out what the author was trying to tell me. It also seemed to me to have had a bit of a slow start and took me a while to get into the story and connect with the main characters. With it being a shorter novella, it hampered me growing close to the characters even more. I did manage to finally start getting into the story and then, suddenly it was much later with the conflict resolved and story ended. It had a HEA but it seemed more like a HFN because the men had a lot to get through before they actually have an HEA.
Unfortunately this story did not connect with me as I thought I might.
