Nightclub owner Marcus Feldman never met a man he didn’t love, at least for the night. Although his best friends have all found love, Marcus shuns their advice to commit to one man and settle down. His past has taught him monogamy and marriage is for fools, and Marcus is anything but a fool.
Tyler Reiss’s dream of dancing professionally is unexpectedly cut short and replaced by a different kind of love. He trades in his ballet slippers for go go boots, and spends his nights dancing at the hottest gay club in the city. Flirting with the customers for tips is easy, but resisting the dark and sexy Marcus is becoming harder to do with each passing day.
Unforeseen circumstances bring Marcus and Tyler closer and though they give in to their mutual passion, both still struggle to guard their hearts. When crises threaten, Tyler and Marcus find their strength in each other rather than falling apart. Tyler must choose to either run, or stay and fight for the life he wants, while Marcus realizes that love doesn’t mean losing himself and opens his heart, making him a better man in the end.
REVIEW:
It is no secret that I fell head over heels for this series, for some reason it just hit. The characters from the first book through the second and now the third, just click with me and are fantastic, plain and simple. In this third book in the series we are looking at Marcus’ story. After Julian and Zach the third man of the infamous breakfast club, three friends for life.
Marcus’ story is an emotional one which will either grab you and won’t let go or you will have trouble connecting with it (just my feeling about it). For me it was boom and I was done for. That man has so many layers and I wanted to peel them all away one by one. Thankfully Tyler does that for me.
Their meeting is – well you could say explosive. Tyler starts working as a dancer in Sparkles, the nightclub Marcus owns.
Marcus is still on the bet he made with his friends, trying to live celibate for three months and he is struggling with his libido and his attraction to the new guy on the block, Tyler.
During the story we find out Tyler has a reason to act how he does and we also see more and more of why Marcus responds and lives his life the way he “was” doing.
Bring in the beautiful adorable “Lillie” and you know life will never be the same for “player” Marcus.
Where I don’t want to spoil too much, it is Lillie together with Ty, showing Marcus there is so much more in life and author Felice Stevens does a wonderful job building up and around their story.
A mention should be made of the more than sensual, erotic kissing and love between both men which left me with red cheeks not from high erotic level but because of the beautiful and loving portrayal that has been written out.
Are there no critical notes you might think? Well yes, there were a few moments that felt slightly off but it is hard to point them out without spoiling anything – for example about the role of Lillie. Lets leave it at that some scenes were a bit egotistical to read but to me this was so minor in the face of the complete story (and series for that matter) that it didn’t affect my rating.
Reading this third part made me feel so warm, hearing about the couples from the first two books, to read about their friendship, their own made family. For me that will always be something special when I read a series. Leaves me to wonder if Miss Stevens will treat us to a spin-off or something because there are some characters in Sparkles whose story I would sure like to read.)
If you didn’t pick up this series for some “unknown” reason yet, make sure you pick it up right away! For me it will be bookmarked as one of the best series I have had the pleasure of reading.
