A warm welcome to author Wulf Franco Godgluck joining us today here @ Love Bytes !
Wulf kindly answered some questions for us and brought along an exclusive snippet of his new release “Of Gods and Monters: Hades” and a fantastic Giveaway!
Welcome Wulf 🙂
Donna:I’m here today to interview author Wulf Francu Godgluck, whose new release Of Gods and Monsters: Hades is now available.
I had the pleasure of reviewing the book with fellow reviewer, Dan, and I was left with some questions for the author.
Hi, Wulf – I can call you that, right? After reading your book I figure you’re not going to be pissed at any lack of formality. Sorry to interrupt your writing – you’d best be writing the rest of this story by the way! – but I had a couple of question to ask. This is only the second of your books that I’ve read, so I hope I don’t leave any of your diehard followers groaning at the “same old questions”.
D: What the heck goes on in your mind when you’re writing one of your gorier scenes? Do you literally think – what is the most messed up shit that could possibly happen to this guy?
Wulf: Yes, you can call me Wulf, or Wulfy, or pup, or little shit. 🙂
I guess it depends on the character; what would they deserve? Will the type of life they lead, the type of sins they play, bear repercussion? And those consequences, are they equal in measure to the character’s sins?
Most of the time the character just whispers it into my ear, or I think of the vilest way to kill them and tone it down—a lot
D:Have your characters ever wanted to indulge in some kink that has made you shudder to write? Because I’ve got to admit that you’re the first author who has made me cringe and think – hell no, I’ve hit my limit.
W:I too have my kink limits, like no body bags or hanky panky in a coffin. (btw do I get a prize for being first?)
But no, never before have I come across that issue with my characters. They say there’s a little part of an author inside each character they create, so I’m sure the limits are safe… or I should say, at least you won’t read any scat scenes in my books. *shudders*
There are, however, kinks I don’t care for that I would still write about.
D:Do you have the series roughly planned out before you begin? I can see characters in this book who are obviously going to have their own stories told, in fact I’ve seen the books added to Goodreads already, albeit without blurbs.
W:Yes! Big reveal, if you will. I do have the series planned out, about 11 books (including Hades and Menoetius) and two spin-off series;
First, a set of ten novellas (Of Beasts and Demigods) will focus on the next generation of Doms and Subs at The Bark.
The other, a Biker series of full length novels (American Bloods) might just be my darkest stuff yet.
D:I love including quotes in my reviews, and you definitely gave me some good ones to choose from. Do you ever write a line and think – I just nailed that, I hope someone mentions that piece of awesome.
W:Honestly, my answer is no, but it would be awesome if someone does mentions it. 🙂
What’s important to me, is that it relates to the reader in some way, if the reader can say; ‘yeah I know what they’re talking about’ or ‘shit, that has some truth to it, doesn’t it…?’ then I’m satisfied.
D:Do you ever worry about how readers may react to the characters or situations you create in your stories?
W:Hell yes, I’m terrified. I know I don’t write rainbows and sunshine. I tend to be very descriptive in my work, not always a good thing when you have lots of gore going on.
But, hey, someone has be the villain, and villains deserve love too. Besides, the dark side has weed and hot, sexy, hunky men.
But I also write firstly for myself, I write the story I would want to read.
Because ultimately, there is some hidden truth or reflection about the author or their lives within their work.
D: No pressure but…(ok, a tiny bit of pressure)…any idea when we can expect to read the rest of Hades, Rex and Kemono?
W:Aiming for the middle of next year for Komainu’s release, (but the book itself might be complete as soon as April) and yeah, feel free to throw things at me, but here’s what I’ve learned from writing Hades.
Don’t rush, take your time and give your editor the time they need. Because I want to give readers a complex, invested, tri-dimensional story with in-depth characters.
D:Thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Now get back to killing shit because I’m not a patient person 😉
W:Thank you for having me. And I’ll get right onto that ‘killing shit’ part. 🙂

******WARNING*******
This is not a story about a hero, or some bad boy-badass-antihero.
This is a love story of two monstrous villains and one valiant kid, held together by their entwined heartstrings.
It won’t be pretty.
It won’t be pleasant.
There’s no fluffy good feelings about it.
It will rip out your heart and never give it back.
Breno Hades el Oscuro was never a man that took bullshit from anyone. He ruled the crime world of the United States. But the King fell. What was left in the ashes was not the small boy that grew up without his father, not the same kid that chose a life of crime at seventeen, or for that matter the King that clawed through a river of blood to stand at the top.
When the King was dragged from his throne of bones into deep dark pit, it was only the raw flesh of a savage monster that remained and crawled out of Hell.
One that knew love, but didn’t want it again.
Kemono Orochi was the one destined to inherit the legacy of his father, known as The Dragon’s Tongue. He never wanted it, never desired the power that went along with the title of Dragon. Kemono ended it all by tearing off the Dragon’s head and watching the serpent’s remains go up in hellfire. Now tormented by the scars of his past and those inflicted by his father, he is struggling to come to terms with the Akuma he has become.
One that wants to devour everyone in his path to get the only one that matters to him.
The only person that had ever made his icy heart beat.
His heart. His love. His beautiful pride.
Rex Hunter had a dream to become the principal ballerino…all fierce like a Phoenix. But this Phoenix has lost his wings and fell into the clutched claws and callus hands of two vicious beasts with the blackest of hearts. Where he would be kept safe, cherished and be loved unconditionally. Or was Rex just destined to be the goo that would stick two shattered souls together and prevent them from forever falling to pieces?
There’s going to be blood, gore and nasty shit.
There’s going to be watersports, crude, angry, sometimes sensual and other times just down right dirty and dysfunctional sex.
BUT…
There will always be LOVE.
Because even villains understand the tortured scars love leaves in her wake.
As in Heaven, so on Earth. Hades sucked in the last drag of the joint and killed it with his boot on the sidewalk. His ears picked up the rumbling of Cracker’s 1980 Ford truck. The cage came to a thundering stop in front of him.
Hades climbed in, not uttering a word, and folded his hands in his lap, staring straight ahead. He could feel the old biker’s gaze on him, and it made Hades fuckin’ uncomfortable. His jaw twitched as the man kept staring.
Hades cracked his neck and grunted, “We leaving anytime soon?” He turned his gaze to the brother.
Cracker stared back. “You slept with him, didn’t ya?”
“Shut up and drive, motherfucker,” Hades grasped the dashboard with one hand and started drumming his fingers on it. Still the geezer’s intense gaze lingered on him. And not hearing the fuckin’ cage rumbling to life just squeezed the impudence from Hades’ bones.
“Devil Eyes would kill ya. Crawl himself right out of that grave and kill you… Hell, I wanna kill ya!”
“We kissed!” Hades barked. “That’s all! I fuckin’ swear!”
Cracker burst out laughing. “Then why you turnin’ all red like a teenager that sampled the goods?”
“You don’t wanna push me right now, Sean,” Hades growled. “I ain’t in a fuckin’ happy place and my balls are about ready fall off and die, and it’s partly your fuckin’ fault. Could have mentioned the kid was fuckin’ faggot.”
“I ain’t see how that would be botherin’, ya.” Cracker laughed harder, tears pissing in the corners of his eyes.
Hades clenched his jaw.
“Fucking drive, sí!” He gritted through clenched teeth and folded his arms over his chest, wishing he hadn’t given Beo his jacket. The new one felt awkward. He much preferred matured leather that had been broken in with sweat, grime and cigarette smoke.

They come to me in the night, creeping into my head. Their voices are all different, their stories all dissimilar, but they keep saying the same thing…
“Show us, tell us, bring us into your world, and make us known.”
Then I sit and they take over. They tell their tales of love, loss and sinister misfortune. Not all of them get a happy ending, but they are pleased when their part is written.
I sometimes find myself lost in my own mind; a world very similar to our own yet so different. Things don’t go bump in the night— they squeal and crawl under your skin, making you grind your teeth, and making your stomach turn over and putting your nerves on edge. Then there’s the drama. Oh, the drama!
Wulf Francú Godgluck hails from South Africa. His work is not for the faint-hearted! In his books you’ll find… all the beasties with their nasty claws and teeth, and some you didn’t even know existed.
But the monsters aren’t all real.
Some live inside us. Who knows what he will make you discover about yourself, lurking in your heart, behind the closed walls in the deep, black recesses where no light penetrates?
Wulf will steal your heart and never give it back. More than likely, he’ll pin it to the wall with a bobbypin and sit there sipping his tea while you writhe and squeal on the floor…
