REVIEW:
I didn’t expect this to be as sweet as it was. And it really was friggin sweet. This is my first BD Roca story and it won’t be my last. What I really liked is that the author was able to develop the characters and the story well enough that I didn’t feel unsatisfied when it ended. With that said I would’ve liked to know more about Jake but the lack of background wasn’t a story killer for me. I think the way this was told made perfect sense and flowed really well.
Nick hasn’t known much love in his life. Having been forced into his Uncle’s violent Motorcycle Club at a young age all Nick knows is death and violence. Deciding he’s had enough of taking his Uncle’s orders, he chooses to end his life and in turn save the last man he was sent to kill.
Jake witnessed a horrible murder. Believing the murderers would come after him, Jake goes on the run.
As the tables turn these two end up sharing a powerful physical connection and things start to change for both men.
Like I mentioned I wasn’t prepared for the connection these two had. It was very sweet and very real. I loved knowing that Nick, having never had love was able to find that with Jake.
I knew their happily ever after couldn’t last and I loved how they both were able to take back control of their lives.
Overall, this is a thoroughly enjoyable little novella that I recommend!! So sweet and so good.
