Will he find a way of trusting those, especially Alexander, who he feels has betrayed him and let his animal, the eagle, lead him straight to his fate by his mate’s side? Or will he trust the words of strangers, who come to make his quest of seeing all shifters dead a reality?

REVIEW:
This is the first book that I’ve read from this author but it definitely won’t be my last. This story, was a beautifully written and at three hundred pages, a substantial read.
Haven has endure the pain of the loss of his family at the hands of a shifter. It is this reason that he has a great deal of animosity and hatred for the shifter community. This is a problem for Alexander, Haven’s mate who is the very kind that Haven’s railed against. He was understandably reluctant to reveal to Haven what he was.
Just when you think that everything is going to work out for everyone, something happens that puts them right back at square one.
The author did a wonderful job of creating characters that were diverse and a story rich with Native American legend and culture. My only issue with the book was that the story was told from too many POVs that were a bit hard to keep up with sometimes. If the story was told from maybe one or two POVs, it would still have been okay. Even though this was the case, the story still flowed along quite nicely.
I particularly liked the flashbacks to happier times between Haven, his parents and grandparents. The legend of the Fenrir Ulv was quite creative as was her cast of characters. Speaking of which, I really appreciated the glossary at the beginning of the book explaining the characters and words.
This shows that Novak put a great deal of work and research into writing this book.
There were absolutely no plot holes and the editing was spot on perfect so mad props goes to her editors. Her cover was absolutely beautiful so shout out to the cover artist.
I am a huge fan of shifter stories in this genre and this author gave me quite a bit of story to work with. The characters were richly diverse, the storyline beautifully done.
I truly liked everything about this book and I’m looking forward to seeing what develops next. This is an author I will definitely keep an eye on.
