When three become two with no explanation, emotions run high, passions flare and hearts are ripped apart.
Everyone can remember a perfect summer—one with endless blue skies, a heart brimming with true love and nights full of hot, sweaty lust. Well we’ve just had a summer like that, Piper and I, and it was spent in Spain with a man who had that certain je ne sais quoi that we couldn’t resist.
Seraphim came into our lives and blinded us with his beauty, his charisma and his exotic charm. His generosity with his mind, his affection and his body blew us away and the three of us became a joyously tangled trio who needed nothing more than to be together.
So when he left, when we had no way of tracing him, the despair was black, the pain raw and our only comfort was each other. But why did Sera leave? What would make a man walk away from his lovers? And if he showed up again on the doorstep, what the hell would happen after so much angst? One thing’s for sure, it would be an explosive reunion in many ways. Absence might make the heart grow fonder, but it can make the rest of the body highly volatile as need wars with hurt, and pain collides with desire.
Reader Advisory: This book contains M/M and M/F scenes.
REVIEW:
Having recently fallen in love with a cast of characters Lily bought to life in a FMM story, I jumped at the opportunity to read and review Heat of the Day.
I love that the story was set in Spain and the two main characters were travelling and living in a caravan park. A theme I could relate to. Flynn and Piper have been together for eight years, lovers since the tender age of 16. Along their travels they meet up with Sera and get together. Then for some unknown reason he disappears from their lives.
Flynn and Piper want to move on but at the same time are afraid to in case Sera comes looking for them, which of course he eventually does. When he reappears Piper is working so Flynn sees him first. I expected the encounter to be explosive, it was – but not in the way I’d hoped. Well not first off! In my opinion, violence has no place in a relationship, whether you’re pissed off because the person left or not. So that scene turned my guts, even though I’m sure Flynn’s heart was in the right place.
Once the heated standoff settled, a different kind of heat turned up. Again something I should have loved BUT with Piper at work, the sex scene between the two men felt like cheating to me. The story was too short for me to come to grips with the dynamics of their relationship, but most threesome stories I’ve read all parties are a part of it, even if one is only watching.
Thankfully, Piper eventually got in on the action, and what ensues is some super raunchy sex! Hot damn Lily knows how to steam up the pages. I thought my kindle might catch fire.
If you’re looking for a quick steamy read, without over the top drama, this story will not disappoint.
