LENGTH: 234 pages
BLURB:
Former child star and deeply closeted adult actor Jax Conlon needs a boost to his flagging career. He promised his mom, just before she died. He hopes he’s found it in a guest spot with the latest directorial prodigy, but his research for the role gets derailed by an encounter with a handsome stranger with more… hands-on experience.
Oz Parsons is a devoted dad to two amazing little girls. Maybe a little too devoted—he hasn’t had anything resembling a personal life since his ex left, leaving Oz and the girls with broken hearts and abandonment issues. So a hookup with a hot guy is just what he needs to let off some pent-up steam without any complications. There’s something about Jax, though, that’s got him finding reasons to draw things out.
With their goals and families pulling them in two different directions, Oz and Jax have to figure if white-hot chemistry and desire that won’t quit is enough to roll the dice and risk now on forever.
REVIEW:
I think the most believable thing about book 1 in this series was the love Theo and Kieran felt for each other. Granted, they were already an established couple when the book started but I never once doubted what they felt. In Risk Everything for It I struggled with the believability of these two main characters being “in love.” I never felt a strong emotional connection. I also never felt a strong emotional connection between Jax and Oz’s girls. So, in that sense I struggled a bit but overall the story was ok. There was absolutely no doubt these two men were in incredible lust for each other. They were HOT together…
We met Jax in book 1, he was a child star who is looking at reprising his role that made him famous years ago. Jumping from audition to audition he is always on the lookout for the next big job to catapult him back to stardom. Doing research for a role he runs into Oz Parsons.
Oz is a divorced single father who has very little time for a personal life. Meeting Jax throw him for a loop because he keeps finding himself making time for him. Knowing Jax has no home base they both struggle with defining what they have together.
Like I mentioned there is no doubt physically these two were a perfect for each other. I just don’t know if I believed the “love” factor.
K.A. Mitchell is a master story teller. She is a favorite author of mine so even though this one left me wanting I am incredibly eager to read the rest in this series.
